Monument (Kollegah Album)
''Monument'' is the seventh studio album by German rapper Kollegah, released on 7 December 2018 through his own label Alpha Music Empire. The album is Kollegah's first solo album since 2016's ''Imperator''. The double album also included his tenth mixtape ''Hoodtape Volume 3''. Background and release Kollegah released his third collaborative studio album alongside German rapper Farid Bang, ''Jung Brutal Gutaussehend 3'', in December 2017. The album became an immediate success for them, debuting on the pole positions in German-speaking Europe and being certified platinum by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI) and gold by the IFPI Austria. Following a controversy about antisemitic lyrics on the bonus EP ''§185'', both rappers released ''Platin war gestern'' in August 2018. Kollegah announced ''Monument'' on 1 October 2018. Kollegah
Felix Martin Andreas Matthias Blume (born 3 August 1984), known professionally as Kollegah, is a German rapper. He releases his music via his own label, Alpha Music Empire. Born in Friedberg and raised by a single mother in Simmern, he started rapping in the Reimliga Battle Arena in December 2004. Intending to pursue a solo career as a rapper, Kollegah released his first mixtape ''Zuhältertape'' in July 2005 and was signed to ''Selfmade Records'' in December of the same year. He went on to pursue a variety of styles on subsequent albums '' Alphagene'' (2007), ''Kollegah'' (2008) and '' Bossaura'' (2011). His fourth studio album, ''King'', was released in 2014 and became his best-selling album to date. The GfK Entertainment hip hop albums chart is the official hip hop albums music chart in Germany and are gathered and published by GfK Entertainment (formerly Media Control and Media Control GfK International) on behalf of Bundesverband Musikindustrie. The chart was officially introduced on 1 April 2015. The chart week runs from Friday to Thursday with the official chart being published on the following Wednesday. The Bundesverband Musikindustrie (English: Federal Music Industry Association), or simply BVMI, represents the music industry in Germany. The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry.
