Montrose Station (CTA Blue Line)
Montrose is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system, serving the Blue Line. The station serves the Irving Park, Mayfair, and Portage Park neighborhoods. Blue Line trains run at intervals of 2–7 minutes during rush hour, and take 22 minutes to travel to the Loop. The station is located in the median of the Kennedy Expressway. The station opened in 1970 as part of the Kennedy extension, connecting the Milwaukee Elevated from Logan Square to Jefferson Park. A transfer is available to Metra's Milwaukee District North Line's Mayfair stop, just to the west of the station. Montrose is a station on the Chicago Transit Authority's 'L' system. It is situated between the Damen and Irving Park stations on the Brown Line, which runs between Albany Park on Chicago's Northwest Side and downtown Chicago. It is an elevated station with two side platforms located at 1817 West Montrose Avenue in the Ravenswood neighborhood of Chicago's Lincoln Square community area. Location Montrose is situated on West Montrose Avenue, between its intersections with North Damen Avenue and North Ashland Avenue. Montrose Railway Station (Caledonian Railway)
Montrose railway station was opened on 1 February 1848 by the Aberdeen Railway as a terminus of a short branch from Dubton Junction. Services initially comprised trains to the junction at Dubton, with some continuing through to Brechin. When the Montrose and Bervie Railway opened on 1 November 1865, its trains were initially worked by the Scottish North Eastern Railway and used this station. These working were taken over by the Caledonian Railway when it took over the SNER. These services were transferred to Montrose railway station when the North British Railway built its new line from Arbroath to Kinnaber (the North British, Arbroath and Montrose Railway).
