Mlomp is a village in Lower Casamance, Senegal, located to the north of Thionck Essyl and to the south of . At the time of the 2002 census, the locality contained in 382 households. It is the main settlement of the rural community of Mlomp (Bignona), in Bignona Department of the Ziguinchor Region. Thionck Essyl (also called Tionk Essil) is a town in Ziguinchor, Senegal, located 65 km north-west of the region capital. Etymology The name of the town means "cook remaining crouched." Rural communities (''Communautés rurales'') (CR) are the fourth-level administrative divisions in Senegal. They are administrative subdivisions comprising the villages, but are distinct from the urban communes and municipalities concerning medium or large towns.
