Miss International China
The Miss International China or well known as "Miss China International" (traditional Chinese: 國際小姐選美大賽中國賽區; simplified Chinese: 国际小姐选美大赛中国赛区; pinyin: guójì xiǎojiě xuǎnměi dàsài Zhōngguó sàiqū) is an annual national Beauty pageant that selects China's representative to the Miss International pageant. History Miss International China was founded in 2002 by the Ministry of Tourism of the People's Republic of China. Current organization, Aiwan Group is the official Miss China International Franchise holder in China. In 2012 the Chinese representative ranked the Second Runner-up and it was the highest placement from China in Miss International history. Beauty Pageant
A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. The term beauty pageant refers originally to the Big Four international beauty pageants. Pageant titles are subdivided into Miss, Mrs. or Ms., and Teen – to clearly identify the difference between pageant divisions. Hundreds and thousands of beauty contests are held annually, but the Big Four are considered the most prestigious, widely covered and broadcast by media. Miss International 2013
Miss International 2013, the 53rd Miss International pageant, was held on December 17, 2013 at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel Hall in Tokyo, Japan. Alejandra Andreu, Miss International 2008, crowned Bea Santiago of the Philippines at the end of the event. This was the second consecutive year Japan hosted the pageant. The incumbent titleholder Miss International 2012 Ikumi Yoshimatsu of Japan was barred from attending the event due to her involvement in a scandal where a media executive Genichi Taniguchi allegedly harassed and intimidated Ms. Yoshimatsu for not signing on to a talent agency with ties to the Japanese Yakuza or underworld. Miss International 2003, the 43rd Miss International pageant, was held on October 8, 2003 at Radisson Miyako Hotel in Tokyo, Japan. Forty-five beauties from all over the world competed to win the coveted title held by Christina Sawaya of Lebanon. In the end, Goizeder Azúa of Venezuela won the title. The pageant was originally scheduled to be held on November 7, 2009, at The Venetian Macao in Macau, but the host committee backed out. 65 contestants competed for the coveted title.
