Miss Grand United States 2022
Miss Grand United States 2022 was the fifth edition of the Miss Grand United States pageant, held on June 23, 2022, at Copernicus Foundation, Copernicus Center, Chicago. Twelve candidates chosen through state pageant or national casting competed for the title, of whom the representative of Colorado, Emily DeMure, was announced the winner. She then represented the country in the Miss Grand International 2022 in Indonesia, but got a non-placement. The contest was hosted by Paola Cossyleon and Alexandria Kelly, and held in parallel with Miss Eco International and Miss Eco Teen International, in which the winners of the Miss Eco categories later participated at the international contests in Egypt. Copernicus Foundation
The Copernicus Foundation ( pl, Fundacja Kopernikowska) is a 501(c)(3) not for profit organization based in the Jefferson Park neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois. It was founded by Poles in Chicago in 1971 in order to raise funds towards raising a monument for the famous astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus to be set in front of the Adler Planetarium. After the Nicolaus Copernicus Monument's dedication at the 500th anniversary of Copernicus in 1973, the Polish-American community decided to use leftover funds towards the purchase of a cultural and civic center for Chicago's Polonia. After a thorough search for the permanent site of the Polish Cultural Center in Chicago, ceremonies took place at the old Gateway Theatre building located near Milwaukee and Lawrence avenues in 1979. Because the Gateway Theatre had been the first movie theater in Chicago built exclusively for the "talkies," the Foundation decided to preserve the theater itself while remodeling around it. Miss Grand International 2022 was the 10th-anniversary edition of the Miss Grand International pageant, held on 25 October 2022 at Sentul International Convention Center in Bogor Regency of West Java province, Indonesia. The pageant featured contestants from sixty-eight countries and territories, of which, the Brazilian representative, Isabella Menin, was named the winner and crowned by Miss Grand International 2021 Nguyễn Thúc Thùy Tiên of Vietnam. The pageant's grand final round was hosted by Thai television personality Matthew Deane, and highlighted by the live performance of an Indonesian singer, Rossa.
