Miss Grand USA, also referred to as Miss Grand United States or Miss Grand United States of America or Miss Grand America, is an annual female beauty pageant in the United States, founded by a Dominican-American businessperson ''Chantel Martínez'' in 2016, aiming to select the country representative for Miss Grand International, which is an annual international beauty pageant promoting World Peace and against all kinds of conflicts. The Miss Grand USA organization has been franchising the state competitions to individual organizers since 2016, in which some cases are responsible for more than one state. Each U.S. state must choose a candidate who competes at the national Miss Grand USA pageant, however, delegates may be appointed state or regional titles if a state pageant is not offered in their area. A beauty pageant is a competition that has traditionally focused on judging and ranking the physical attributes of the contestants. Pageants have now evolved to include inner beauty, with criteria covering judging of personality, intelligence, talent, character, and charitable involvement, through private interviews with judges and answers to public on-stage questions. Miss Grand United States 2019 was the third edition of the Miss Grand United States pageant, held on August 11, 2019, at Lincolnshire Marriott Resort, Lake County, Illinois. Contestants from thirty-five U.S. statess competed for the title, of whom the representative of Nevada, Emily Irene Delgado, was named the winner. Miss Grand United States 2017 was the second edition of the Miss Grand United States pageant, held on July 25, 2017, at the Leonard Nimoy Thalia, Symphony Space, New York City. Contestants from seventeen U.S. states competed for the title, of whom the representative of California, Taylor Kessler, was announced the winner. She then represented the United States at Miss Grand International 2017 in Vietnam, but did not qualify to the top 10 finalists. In addition to the main winner, the first runner-up, Brianna Key, was later appointed as Miss Grand United States Virgin Islands 2017 to compete internationally in Vietnam but also received a non-placement.
