Mindhunter (TV Series)
''Mindhunter'' is an American psychological crime thriller television series created by Joe Penhall, based on the 1995 true-crime book '' Mindhunter: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit'' written by John E. Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The executive producers include Penhall, Charlize Theron, and David Fincher, the latter of whom has served as the series' most frequent director and de facto showrunner, overseeing many of the scriptwriting and production processes. The series stars Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, and Anna Torv, and it follows the founding of the Behavioral Science Unit in the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in the late 1970s and the beginning of criminal profiling. The first season of 10 episodes debuted worldwide on Netflix on October 13, 2017. The second season was released by Netflix on August 16, 2019. Crime Drama
Crime films, in the broadest sense, is a film genre inspired by and analogous to the crime fiction literary genre. Films of this genre generally involve various aspects of crime and its detection. Stylistically, the genre may overlap and combine with many other genres, such as drama or gangster film, but also include comedy, and, in turn, is divided into many sub-genres, such as mystery, suspense or noir. Screenwriter and scholar Eric R. Williams identified crime film as one of eleven super-genres in his Screenwriters Taxonomy, claiming that all feature-length narrative films can be classified by these super-genres. The other ten super-genres are action, fantasy, horror, romance, science fiction, slice of life, sports, thriller, war and western. 4K resolution refers to a horizontal display resolution of approximately 4,000 pixels. Digital television and digital cinematography commonly use several different 4K resolutions. Eric James Zumbrunnen (November 4, 1964 – August 1, 2017) was a film editor who won the ACE Eddie Award for the film ''Being John Malkovich'' (1999). Kirk Baxter
Kirk Baxter (born 1972) is an Australian film editor. He has worked with director David Fincher and editor Angus Wall several times, winning Academy Awards for '' The Social Network'' and ''The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo''. Baxter was raised in Sydney, Australia and commenced his career as an editor there. He had been noted primarily for his work editing commercials, and co-founded a commercial editing firm named Final Cut. In 2004, Baxter joined Angus Wall's firm Rock Paper Scissors, which was also responsible for commercial work. Baxter then worked with Wall as an "additional editor" on Fincher's film ''Zodiac''.
