Mid Airlines
Mid Airlines is a charter airline based in Khartoum, Sudan. It operates domestic passenger services. Its main base is Khartoum International Airport. History The airline was established in 2002 and started operations in May 2003. Destinations Mid Airlines operates scheduled domestic destinations to Khartoum, Rumbek, and Port Sudan (as of January 2005), although it appears as of June 2016 that this is no longer the case and that the airline presently offers an array of domestic and international charter services. Khartoum
Khartoum or Khartum ( ; ar, الخرطوم, Al-Khurṭūm, din, Kaartuɔ̈m) is the capital of Sudan. With a population of 5,274,321, its metropolitan area is the largest in Sudan. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile, flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile, flowing west from Lake Tana in Ethiopia. Khartoum International Airport
Khartoum International Airport (Arabic:مطار الخرطوم الدولي) is the principal airport in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. The current airport will be replaced by the New Khartoum International Airport in Omdourman 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of the centre of Khartoum in 2022. This is planned to have two runways, a passenger terminal of and a 300-room international hotel. Construction is to be carried out by China Harbour Engineering Co. (CHEC). On 04 March 2021, the airport's ICAO code was changed from HSSS to HSSK. The current airport originated as the Royal Air Force airfield Gordon's Tree. Air charter is the business of renting an entire aircraft (i.e., chartering) as opposed to individual aircraft seats (i.e., purchasing a airline ticket, ticket through a traditional airline). Port Sudan
Port Sudan ( ar, بور سودان, Būr Sūdān) is a port city in eastern Sudan, and the capital of the state of Red Sea. , it has 489,725 residents. Located on the Red Sea, Port Sudan is recognized as Sudan's main seaport and the source of 90% of the country's international trade. Fokker 50
The Fokker 50 is a turboprop-powered airliner, designed as an improved version of the successful Fokker F27 Friendship. The Fokker 60 is a stretched freighter version of the Fokker 50. Both aircraft were manufactured and supported by Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. The Fokker 50 was developed during the early 1980s following a decline in the sales of the company's earlier F27 Friendship. It was decided that the new airliner would be a derivative of its predecessor, sharing much of its airframe and design features, while incorporating new advances and several improvements, such as the adoption of Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127B turboprop engines, in order to produce a successor that had a 30 per cent reduction in fuel consumption over the F27.
