Michmoret
Mikhmoret ( he, מִכְמֹרֶת, מכמורת, ''lit.'' Fishing net) is a moshav in central Israel. Located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea around nine kilometres north of Netanya, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hefer Valley Regional Council. In it had a population of . History The moshav was founded in 1945 by demobilised soldiers from the British Army, and was named Mikhmoret due to the profession of many of the founders being fishers. The moshav expanded onto lands of the depopulated Palestinian village of 'Arab al-Nufay'at, whose inhabitants were expelled by an order issued by the Haganah from 10 April 1948. In 2012 Mikhmoret Beach was listed as one of the best beaches in Israel. The Israel Nature and Parks Authority established the Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center in Moshav Mikhmoret. Lee (Lee-El) Korzits ( he, לי (לִי-אֵל) קורזיץ; nicknamed Leeka; born 25 March 1984) is an Israeli Windsurfing, windsurfer who has won four Windsurfing World Championships titles (in List of World Championships medalists in sailing (windsurfer classes), 2003, 2011, 2012, and 2013). Avraham Tal
Avraham Tal ( he, אברהם טל; born: 28 November 1976) is an Israeli singer, musician, and musical producer. Tal was the lead singer and writer in the popular Israeli band " Shotei Hanevuah" ( he, שוטי הנבואה) from 1998 until its breakup in 2007. Among the well-known songs which he wrote while in the band are "Mi" (Translation: Who) and "Kol Galgal" (Translation: Voice of a Wheel). Biography Avraham Tal was born Avraham Foinquinos Tal in Nir Moshe and grew up in Neve Ativ in the Golan Heights. His parents, Reine (born in Algiers) and Maurice (born in Morocco) both arrived in Marseilles, France as children and immigrated to Israel in the early 1970s. A moshav ( he, מוֹשָׁב, plural ', lit. ''settlement, village'') is a type of Israeli town or settlement, in particular a type of cooperative agricultural community of individual farms settler, pioneered by the Labor Zionism, Labour Zionists between 1904 and 1914, during what is known as the Second Aliyah, second wave of ''aliyah''. A resident or a member of a moshav can be called a "moshavnik" (). The moshavim are similar to kibbutzim with an emphasis on community labour. Mordechai (Moti) Kirschenbaum ( he, מרדכי "מוטי" קירשנבאום; September 24, 1939 – September 25, 2015) was an Israeli media personality and documentarian. Walid Khalidi ( ar, وليد خالدي, born 1925 in Jerusalem) is an Oxford University-educated Palestinian historian who has written extensively on the Palestinian exodus.
