Lee Korzits
Lee (Lee-El) Korzits ( he, לי (לִי-אֵל) קורזיץ; nicknamed Leeka; born 25 March 1984) is an Israeli Windsurfing, windsurfer who has won four Windsurfing World Championships titles (in List of World Championships medalists in sailing (windsurfer classes), 2003, 2011, 2012, and 2013). She competed in the 2004 Summer Olympics, 2004 Olympics, finishing 13th, and at the 2012 Olympics, finishing 6th. Mistral One Design
The Mistral One Design Class (MOD) is a windsurfing class chosen by the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) for use at the Olympic Regatta in Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004. Starting with the 2008 Summer Olympics it was replaced by the RS:X class, which will be replaced by the iQFoil class for the 2024 Summer Olympics. Description The MOD was first produced in 1989. 2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships was the first edition of the ISAF Sailing World Championships and was held in Cadiz, Spain from 11 September to 24 September. Venue The venue for the 2003 ISAF Sailing World Championships was Cádiz with three marinas: El Puerto de Santa María for Mistral, Finn, Yngling, Europe, Star, Tornado and 49er, Cádiz for Laser and Rota for 470. International Jewish Sports Hall Of Fame
The International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame ( he, יד לאיש הספורט היהודי, translit=Yad Le'ish HaSport HaYehudi) was opened July 7, 1981 in Netanya, Israel. It honors Jewish athletes and their accomplishments from anywhere around the world. It is located at the Wingate Institute for Physical Education and Sport. It has inducted over 400 athletes and sportspersons representing 40 countries. The Hall elects new honorees each year, with submissions due December 1 for votes for the following year, and a formal induction ceremony taking place several days prior to the Maccabiah Games every four years. The Hall was founded by Joseph M. Siegman, a television producer and writer who lives in Beverly Hills, California. He chaired the Hall from 1981 to 1989, and later served as chairman of its Selection Committee. Israel competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, from 27 July to 12 August 2012. This was the nation's fifteenth appearance at the Summer Olympics. The Olympic Committee of Israel sent 37 athletes to the Games, 19 men and 18 women, to compete in 9 sports. The nation's team size was smaller by six athletes from the previous games (in contrast to 43 athletes who competed in Beijing, which was the nation's largest delegation to that point). This was also the youngest delegation in Israel's Olympic history, with about half the team under the age of 23, and many of the team members were expected to reach their peak in time for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. Sixteen athletes had competed in Beijing, including windsurfer and bronze medalist Shahar Tzuberi, who was the nation's flag bearer at the opening ceremony. 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships
The 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships was held in Perth, Western Australia, this was the third edition of the ISAF Sailing World Championships. It is the world championships for all disciplines used at the upcoming Olympics. As it used to allocate 75% of the qualification quota for the 2012 Summer Olympics this event has added significance. Maayan Davidovich ( he, מעין דוידוביץ'; born May 21, 1988) is an Israeli Olympic windsurfer. Biography Davidovich is Jewish, and her hometown is Herzliya, Israel. She competes with the club Hapoel Tel Aviv. She started sailing at the age of five, and surfing at 13. Her parents enjoy watersports, and her brothers and twin sister were all windsurfing champions. She made her international competitive debut in the 1999 Optimist European Championships, in Greece. In July 2005, she came in fourth in the Mistral – Women 35th Volvo Youth Sailing International Sailing Federation (ISAF) World Championship, in Busan, Korea.
