MasterChef Canada
''MasterChef Canada'' is a Canadian competitive cooking reality show, part of the ''MasterChef'' franchise, open to amateur home cooks. It premiered on CTV on January 20, 2014, and has aired its seventh season. The show stars three judges: Claudio Aprile, Michael Bonacini and Alvin Leung. The show is produced by Endemol Shine International and Proper Television. ''MasterChef Canada'' airs Tuesday nights on CTV and the Cooking Channel in the United States. The current season airs starting in September of each year in the U.S. It airs also in Sweden, Italy and Spain. On August 8, 2018, CTV renewed ''MasterChef Canada'' for another season, announcing that audition casting for the all new sixth season was greenlit. Filming began in October 2018 and concluded in January 2019. Season 6 premiered on CTV on April 8, 2019, and ended on June 10. Joe Bastianich
Joseph Bastianich (born September 17, 1968) is an American restaurateur, winemaker, author, television personality, and musician. He, along with his mother and business partner Lidia Bastianich, co-owns thirty restaurants in four countries, including Osteria Mozza in Los Angeles, which the owners expanded in 2010. MasterChef Canada (season 5)
The fifth season of ''MasterChef Canada'' originally aired on April 3, 2018, on CTV and concluded on June 19. Filming began in September 2017 and ended in November 2017. Sherwood Park resident Beccy Stables (originally from Grimsby, England) won the trophy, title, and $100,000 prize money. Mary Berg is a Canadian television host, author and cook, most noted as the winner of the MasterChef Canada (season 3), third season of ''MasterChef Canada''. She has been the host of two television cooking shows, ''Mary's Kitchen Crush'' and ''Mary Makes It Easy'', and has released two cookbooks, ''Kitchen Party'' and ''Well Seasoned''. Eric Chong
Eric Chong (born December 27, 1991) is a Canadian chef, former engineer, and restaurateur who became the winner of the first season of ''MasterChef Canada''. Winning at age 21, he was the youngest ever winner of ''MasterChef Canada'' until Beccy Stables entered and won the fifth season of the competition at age 19. Career He obtained a degree in chemical engineering from McMaster University and started working in the field, but quit when he heard the casting call for ''MasterChef Canada''.
