Marlène Harnois
Marlène Olivia Harnois (born 22 October 1986) is a Canadian-born French taekwondo Olympic medalist, TV personality, philanthropist and a Knight of the Order of Merit, decorated by the President of France. She is a Champion for Peace representing the Peace and Sport Organisation under the High Patronage of H.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. She is also a member of the Canadian Olympic Committee, the European Taekwondo Union and a board member of the French Olympian Association. In addition she is two times European Champion, World University Champion, a World Taekwondo Championships medalist and has reached the world number one ranking. Highly involved in the development of sport in West Africa and mentoring young prodigies Cheick Cissé and Ruth Gbagbi, she contributed to the historical victory of Ivory Coast at the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics. Ruth Marie Christelle Gbagbi (born 7 February 1994 in Abidjan) is an Ivorian taekwondo practitioner. She competed in the 67 kg event at the 2012 Summer Olympics; she was defeated by Hwang Kyung-Seon in the preliminary round and eliminated by Helena Fromm in the repechage contest. Cheick Sallah Cissé (born 19 September 1993) is an Ivorian taekwondo athlete. After winning gold at the 2015 African Games in the men's 80 kg, he represented Ivory Coast at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in the same category. He reached the final of the tournament, competing against Britain's Lutalo Muhammad. A ranking is a relationship between a set of items such that, for any two items, the first is either "ranked higher than", "ranked lower than" or "ranked equal to" the second.
