Marianas Trench are a Canadian pop rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, formed in 1999 by Josh Ramsay (lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist, pianist) and lead guitarist Steve Marshall with Ramsay's sister Sara on keyboards and vocals, Erik Scott on drums and Trev Spilchen on bass. Originally called Ramsay Fiction, Marshall suggested a name change when Ramsay's high school friend Matt Webb, drummer Ian Casselman and Morgan Hempstead on bass, replaced Spilchen and Sara Ramsay. Mike Ayley, a long time friend of Casselman took up bass responsibilities when Hempstead and Marshall left the band in 2004, taking the 5 piece down to 4. The band's current line up has released five full-length studio albums: ''Fix Me'' (2006), ''Masterpiece Theatre'' (2009), ''Ever After'' (2011), '' Astoria'' (2015), and '' Phantoms'' (2019). 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards
The 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards was held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada at MuchMusic's headquarters on June 19, 2011. The awards were aired on MuchMusic, CP24, E!, MuchHD and Fuse. Along with the MuchMusic VJ's, it was confirmed on the MuchMusic website that Selena Gomez will host the show. Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber tied for the most awards won with 2 each. Prairieland Park
Prairieland Park is an events centre on the south-central edge of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. The park is located in the Exhibition neighbourhood of Saskatoon. Each year the park hosts an annual Saskatoon Exhibition variably called "The Ex" (previously it was known as Pioneer Days). During the remainder of the year most of the park venues are rented out to special events. "Beside You" is a song recorded by Canadian pop-rock group Marianas Trench for their second studio album ''Masterpiece Theatre''. It was released for digital download by 604 Records on February 24, 2009. The band performed the song at the Edmonton Event Centre for the ''Beside You'' tour on November 2, 2009. It reached No. 27 for the Canadian Hot 100; the song was certified Platinum by Music Canada on February 22, 2010. Composition ''Beside You'' incorporates 70s and 80s classic rock influence in its chorus harmonies. ''Masterpiece Theatre'' is the second studio album by Canadian rock group Marianas Trench. It was released on February 24, 2009, in Canada and September 28, 2010, in the United States. The album was available for preview at MuchMusic's website before the release. The last song on the album, titled "Masterpiece Theatre III", is a collage of all the songs on the album including its five singles. The album is a slight departure from Fix Me, containing more theatrical elements and instruments while still retaining the punk rock influence of its predecessor. The songs "Masterpiece Theatre" (I, II, and III), "Beside You", and "Good To You" show some experimentation using pianos, strings, and harmonies.
