Mandera
Mandera ( so, Mandheera) is the capital of Mandera County in the former North Eastern Province of Kenya. It is situated at around , near the borders with Somalia and Ethiopia. Districts Mandera is the capital of the Mandera District. As a whole, it used to constitute one district in previous administrations, which is now divided into six sub-counties and Constituencies; namely, # Mandera East which represents Mandera Town # Mandera Central # Mandera West # Mandera North # Banissa #Elwak #Lafey The county occupies an area of 26,744 km2. Among the notable incident of Mandera history was the Rhamu Incident of the 1977 in which Somali military invaded Ethiopian defences from the Kenyan side in which a force of 1500 Somali soldiers attacked a border post, and killed 30 Kenyan police officers and soldiers. Mandera District
Mandera County is the northeasternmost county in Kenya. Its capital and largest town is Mandera. The county is bordered by Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east and Wajir County to the southwest. According to the 2019 census, the county has a population of 1,200,890 and an area of . The main economic activity in the county is pastoralism, while others include cross-border trade with Ethiopia, artisanal mining, beekeeping, and agriculture along the Dawa River. Geography The county mostly consists of rocky hills, located on a plain that rises from 400m in altitude near El Wak, to 970m near the Ethiopian border. The seasonal Dawa River (also 'Daua River') forms the border between Mandera County and Ethiopia, for about 150 km from the northernmost point of the county up to the Somali border. North Eastern Province, Kenya

Sub-Counties Of Kenya
Sub-counties are the decentralised units through which county governments of Kenya will provide functions and services. Except for the parts which fall under urban areas, sub-counties will coincide with the constituencies created under article 89 of the Constitution of Kenya. Sub-counties will be headed by a sub-county administrator, appointed by a County Public Service Board.
