''Maciste all'inferno'' is an album by French heavy metal band Gojira. The album was recorded live while a projection of the movie ''Maciste all'inferno'' (1925) was running at the Rock School Barbey in Bordeaux on 29 May 2003. The album contains fifteen songs, about 50 minutes in length. On 30 October 2020, Gojira shared a studio performance of a track called "Inferno", as extracted from the album, in Joe Duplantier's Silver Cord Studio. Gojira (band)
Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band's lineup—brothers Joe (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (lead guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass)—has been the same since the band changed its name to Gojira in 2001. A remastered edition of the album was released in 2005 by the band's former label, Listenable Records. The track "Indians" was released as a single. ''The Link Alive'' is the first live album by French heavy metal band Gojira. The show was filmed in Bordeaux in 2003. The material is mostly older songs from '' The Link'' and ''Terra Incognita'', as well as earlier demos. The extra features include several behind-the-scenes documentary, music videos, history, a photo gallery and some short clips, the DVD also contains some hidden 'Easter Eggs'. ''The Link Alive'' was also released as a live album CD on 30 October 2004. It features identical track listings and credits to the DVD. The album was limited to only 500 copies. Maciste () is one of the oldest recurring characters of cinema, created by Gabriele d'Annunzio and Giovanni Pastrone. He is featured throughout the history of the cinema of Italy from the 1910s to the mid-1960s. He is usually depicted as a Hercules-like figure, utilizing his massive strength to achieve heroic feats that ordinary men cannot. Joe Duplantier
Joseph Andrew Duplantier (born 19 October 1976) is a French-American musician, best known as the rhythm guitarist, vocalist, and lyricist of heavy metal band Gojira. He is also a record producer and environmental activist. Duplantier was born in Paris and grew up in Ondres. He was raised in an environment where music and arts held a prominent place. He learned to play the guitar at the age of fourteen and formed his first band in high school. He studied art and began working as a graphic designer before co-founding the death metal band Godzilla with his younger brother Mario in 1996. He was also a member of the band Empalot along with his brother. Godzilla changed its name to Gojira, which rose from obscurity to international prominence. Christian Roger Andreu (born November 15, 1976) is a French musician best known as the lead guitarist of metal band Gojira, and was guitarist on a Familha Artús album. Music Christian Andreu's influences include bands such as Death, Metallica, Morbid Angel, Tool, Slayer, and classical music. His favorite non-metal musicians are Mozart, La Tordue, Têtes Raides, and Björk, as well as Bulgarian music and Indian music. He cites French singers such as Alain Bashung, Barbara, Jacques Brel, and Georges Brassens.
