München Englschalking Railway Station
Munich-Englschalking is a Munich S-Bahn station on the Munich East–Munich Airport railway in the borough of Bogenhausen. Future development There are a number of development plans for the railway station and its vicinity. U-Bahn extension An extension of the Munich U-Bahn line U4 from Arabellapark is planned to connect the station with Munich's U-Bahn network. Due to budget considerations, an alternative Stadtbahn line is also considered. Munich Airport Express As the Munich city government is opposed to plans of the Bavarian government to build a Transrapid mag-lev line from München Hauptbahnhof to the Airport, it has proposed an alternative Express S-Bahn, MAEX, that should run along the tracks of the current S8 S-Bahn line. The Munich S-Bahn (german: S-Bahn München) is an Railway electrification system, electric rail transit system in Munich, Germany. "S-Bahn" is the German abbreviation for ''Stadtschnellbahn'' (literally, "urban rapid rail"), and the Munich S-Bahn exhibits characteristics of both rapid transit and commuter rail systems. MAEX
The MAEX (MunichAirportEXpress) is an alternative solution to the Transrapid required by the Munich city government for a fast train connection between Munich main station and the Munich airport. Concept The MAEX is an express S-train, and is designed to be routed from Munich's main railway station through the second main tunnel, on the current S8 train route East of the city, the Munich East-Munich Airport railway, to the airport. In addition to the two stops in the second main tunnel route, at the main station and Marienplatz, there will be an additional two stops at the Leuchtenbergring as well as in Unterföhring and Ismaning. For the realization of this route, the four-track expansion of the Munich North Ring in the Daglfing-Johanneskirchen area is required in addition to the changes in the second main tunnel. München Hauptbahnhof or Munich Central Station is the main railway station in the city of Munich, Germany. It is one of the three stations with long-distance services in Munich, the others being Munich East station (''München Ost'') and Munich-Pasing station (''München-Pasing''). Transrapid
Transrapid is a German-developed high-speed monorail train using magnetic levitation. Planning for the Transrapid system started in 1969 with a test facility for the system in Emsland, Germany completed in 1987. In 1991, technical readiness for application was approved by the Deutsche Bundesbahn in cooperation with renowned universities. The last version, the Transrapid 09, is designed for a cruising speed of and allows acceleration and deceleration of approximately . Arabellapark (Munich U-Bahn)
Arabellapark is a Munich U-Bahn station in Bogenhausen borough. It is the eastern terminus of the U4. Arabellapark station is located in the Arabellapark district of Bogenhausen, a large housing and commercial district developed during the 1970s. Bogenhausen (Central Bavarian: ''Bognhausn'') is the 13th borough of Munich, Germany.
