Méliès International Festivals Federation
Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF), formerly European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation (EFFFF), established in 1987, is a network of 22 genre film festivals from 16 countries based Brussels, Belgium, and dedicated to promoting and supporting European cinema, particularly films in the fantasy, horror and science fiction genres. Ernest Mathijs and Jamie Sexton describe it as "the biggest fan-based cult-network on the continent", comparable in scope to World Science Fiction Convention, San Diego Comic-Con International, and Fangoria's Weekend of Horrors, though less commercial. The MIFF annually awards the Méliès d'Or (Golden Méliès) for the best European fantastic feature film and short film, and the Federation Award for Best Asian Film. Sitges Film Festival
The Sitges Film Festival ( ca, Festival Internacional de Cinema Fantàstic de Catalunya, links=no) is an annual film festival held in Sitges, Spain, specialized in fantasy and horror films, of which it is considered one of the world's foremost international festivals. Established in 1968, the festival takes place every year, usually in early October. The 55th edition of the festival will be held from October 6 to 16, 2022. This year, in the 22nd edition of the Awards 15 film schools and universities around Catalonia, which have submitted a total of 32 audiovisual works, will also participate. Lund
Lund (, , ) is a city in the southern Swedish provinces of Sweden, province of Scania, across the Øresund, Öresund strait from Copenhagen. The town had 91,940 inhabitants out of a municipal total of 121,510 . It is the seat of Lund Municipality, Scania County. The Øresund Region, Öresund Region, which includes Lund, is home to more than 4.1 million people. Archeologists date the foundation of Lund to around 990, when Scania was part of Denmark. Lund International Fantastic Film Festival
The Lund International Fantastic Film Festival ( sv, Fantastisk Filmfestival, abbreviated FFF or LIFFF) is a popular film festival in Lund in southern Sweden that mainly shows Fantasy film, fantasy, Science fiction film, science fiction and horror film, horror films. LIFFF is the largest Fantastique, fantastic/Film genre, genre film festival in Scandinavia. In 2015 the festival is broken up into two parts, the first part taking place in Malmö 22—27 September, and the main festival part is held in Lund 22—31 October. Venues The festival office and the ticket registers are located in the Lund city hall. Most of the screenings during the main festival in October, as well as the year-round previews, take place in Lund, mainly in the cinemas Kino and SF, while the screenings in September take place in the Malmö cinema Spegeln. The Imagine Film Festival, formerly Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival (AFFF), also known as Imagine Fantastic Film Festival or simply Imagine, is an annual film festival in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The festival was created in 1991 as the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival, with a focus mainly on fantasy and horror films, before changing its name in 2009. Sitges (, , ) is a town about 35 kilometres southwest of Barcelona, in Spain, renowned worldwide for its Film Festival, Carnival, and LGBT Culture. Brussels International Festival Of Fantasy Film
The Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF), previously named Brussels International Festival of Fantastic Film (french: Festival international du film fantastique de Bruxelles, nl, Internationaal Festival van de Fantastische Film van Brussel) was created in 1983 as a venue for horror, thriller and science fiction films. It takes place in Brussels, every year in March. Initially organized by Annie Bozzo, Gigi Etienne, Freddy Bozzo, Georges Delmote and Guy Delmote, it now has prizes in both feature-length and short films, and also hosts an international body-painting competition. The festival is accredited by the FIAPF as a competitive specialised film festival.
