Måløy
Måløy () is a town in the municipality of Kinn in Vestland county, Norway. Måløy is located on the southeastern side of the island of Vågsøy, about northeast of the village of Holvika and about south of the village of Raudeberg. The Måløy Bridge connects the town centre to the area of Deknepollen on the mainland. Sør-Vågsøy Church is located in Måløy. Måløy is one of the most important fishing ports in Norway. In 1997, Måløy was granted town status by the municipality. The town has a population (2018) of 3,283 and a population density of . Prior to 2020, the town was also the administrative centre of the old Vågsøy Municipality. Måløy Bridge
The Måløy Bridge ( no, Måløybrua) is a cantilever road bridge in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The bridge connects the village area of Degnepoll on the mainland and the town of Måløy on the island of Vågsøy. The bridge carries Norwegian national road 15 over the Måløystraumen strait and Måløy island. The bridge is long, the longest spans are , and the maximum clearance to the sea is . In total, the bridge has 34 spans. Construction started in 1971, and it was officially opened by King Olav V on 11 July 1974, although the bridge was actually opened for traffic in December 1973. King Olav came to the opening by ship, returning from a visit to Iceland. The opening of the bridge had to be postponed for a day because the Royal Yacht got delayed by bad weather while at sea. Vågsøy is a former municipality in the old Sogn og Fjordane county, Norway. It was located in the traditional district of Nordfjord. The municipality's administrative center was the town Måløy. Other population centers in Vågsøy included the villages of Bryggja, Deknepollen, Holvika, Kvalheim, Langeneset, Raudeberg, Refvika, Silda, Tennebø, Totland, Vedvika, and Vågsvåg. The municipality included the island of Vågsøy, several small surrounding islands, and part of the mainland. Moldøen
Moldøen (also known as Måløyna, Lisjemåløyna, Øyna, or Måløy Island) is a small island in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located immediately east of the town centre in Måløy in the Ulvesund strait between the large island of Vågsøy and the village of Degnepoll on the mainland. Historically, the island was strategically placed in the main shipping lane on Norway's coast with harbour facilities for vessels sailing between Bergen and Northern Norway and was visited by King Frederik IV in 1704. The island became an important trading post for the region and was the original site of the town of Måløy. Operation Archery, also known as the Måløy Raid, was a British Combined Operations raid during World War II against German positions on the island of Vågsøy, Norway, on 27 December 1941. British Commandos of No. 3 Commando, two troops of No. 2 Commando, a medical detachment of No. 4 Commando, a demolition party from 101 Troop (canoe) of No. 6 Commando, and a dozen Norwegians from Norwegian Independent Company 1 conducted the raid. Sør-Vågsøy is a former municipality in the old Sogn og Fjordane county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1910 until 1964 and it encompassed the southern part of the island of Vågsøy and a small area on the mainland just east of the island. Vågsøy is an island in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. The island lies on the northern side of the mouth of the Nordfjorden (Sogn og Fjordane), Nordfjorden, the sixth longest fjord in Norway. The Stadlandet peninsula lies to the north of the island, the islands of Silda, Sogn og Fjordane, Silda and Barmøya and the mainland lie to the east of the island, the island of Husevågøy lies to the south (in the middle of the mouth of the Nordfjorden), and the open ocean lies to the west. Deknepollen
Degnepoll or Deknepollen is a neighborhood in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Deknepollen is located on the mainland and it is an eastern suburb of the town of Måløy (which is located on the island of Vågsøy), which it is connected to by a long Måløy Bridge. It is also located about west of the village of Bryggja. The village of Tennebø is located about southeast of Deknepollen, with the lake Degnepollvatnet located between the two villages. Before the Måløy Bridge was constructed, there was a ferry from Deknepollen to Måløy. The name Deknepollen could be roughly translated as a "small fjord arm by the deacon". Sør-Vågsøy Church ( no, Sør-Vågsøy kyrkje) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the town of Måløy on the southeastern coast of the island of Vågsøy. It is the church for the Sør-Vågsøy parish which is part of the Nordfjord prosti ( deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church style in 1907 by the architect Lars Sølvberg. The church seats about 600 people. Raudeberg
Raudeberg is a village in Kinn Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located on the east side of the island of Vågsøy. The villages of Refvika, Vedvika, and Langeneset are located a few kilometers to the north, and the town of Måløy is about to the south.
