"Mädchen" (, en, "Girl") is a German-language song by German pop rock musical duo Lucilectric, written by members Luci van Org and . The track was produced by Annette Humpe and Andreas Herbig and was released as a single in Germany in mid-1993. Although it was not successful initially, the song eventually became a top-10 hit in the Netherlands, after which it charted in several other European countries, reaching number two in Germany and becoming a top-five hit in Austria and Switzerland. The song is certified gold in both Austria and Germany and won an Echo Award for Best National Single in 1995. Release and promotion "Mädchen" was originally released in Germany in mid-1993 but did not experience commercial success. The song eventually gained attention in the Netherlands, where it was released in January 1994, at which point radio stations increased the track's airplay. Lucilectric was a German pop/rock duo founded in 1993 by Luci van Org and producer Ralf Goldkind. They are known primarily for their 1994 hit single ''Mädchen'' (''Girl''), which spent 12 weeks in the German Top 10, eventually reaching number two. The single also charted in the Swiss, Austrian and Dutch markets. ''Hey Süßer'' (''Hey sweetheart''), another of single from the same album, also reached the Top 40 in 1994. Lene Lovich
Lene Lovich (; born Lili-Marlene Premilovich; March 30, 1949) is an English-American singer, songwriter and musician. She first gained attention in 1979 with the release of her hit single "Lucky Number", which peaked at number 3 on the UK Singles Chart and made her a leading figure of the new wave music scene. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Lovich moved to England at the age of 13, where she met guitarist and songwriter Les Chappell, who later became her long-time music collaborator and life partner. She developed an interest in art and theater, enrolling at the Central School of Art and Design where she took saxophone lessons. In 1975, she joined the band the Diversions and shortly afterwards wrote the lyrics to Cerrone's single " Supernature". The association represents the interests of nearly 280 labels and music industry related enterprises, which comprise 90% of the music industry. Ultratop is an organization which generates and publishes the official record charts in Belgium. Ultratop is a non-profit organization, created on the initiative of the Belgian Entertainment Association (BEA), the Belgian member organization of the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry. Two parallel sets of charts are concurrently produced and published, one on behalf of Belgium's mainly Dutch-speaking Flanders region, and the other catering to the nation's mainly French-speaking region of Wallonia. The Dutch Single Top 100 or Single Top 100 is a Dutch chart, based on official physical single sales, legal downloads and since July 2013 streaming and composed by Dutch Charts. It is one of the three official charts, the other two being the Dutch Top 40 and the Mega Top 30. The difference is that these charts also include airplay data.
