Myanmar Idol (season 2)
The second season of ''Myanmar Idol'' premiered on December 2, 2016 and continued until March 25, 2017. It was won by Thar Nge. The second season was co-hosted by Kyaw Htet Aung, the latter of whom left the show after the season ended. Regional auditions Auditions were held in Nay Pyi Taw, Mandalay, Taunggyi, Hpa-an, and Yangon from September to October 2016, and around 10,000 attended the auditions. Structure of auditions There are usually two stages in the audition process. The first round is casting round and they sing in front the executive producers and more are eliminated. In the second round those who survive the first stage sing in front of the judges and this is the audition shown on television. Kyaw Htet Aung
Kyaw Htet Aung ( my, ကျော်ထက်အောင်; born 14 September 1985) is a Burmese television host, MC, actor and model. He is best known for hosting in the televised singing competition show Myanmar Idol, which propelled him to fame in Myanmar. Early life and education Kyaw Htet Aung was born on 14 September 1985 in Yangon, Myanmar to parent Win Lwin and Myint Myint Oo. He graduated from East Yangon University. He studied acting at Talents & Models Agency in 2000. Career MC and host Kyaw began his career as a presenter in 2007. Nay Pyi Taw
Naypyidaw, officially spelled Nay Pyi Taw (; ), is the capital and third-largest city of Myanmar. The city is located at the centre of the Naypyidaw Union Territory. Win Oo
Win Oo ( my, ဝင်းဦး; , 13 March 1935 – 14 December 1988) was a two-time Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards winning Burmese actor, singer, director, writer and publisher. He became publicly known for his acting, singing and directing. Win was considered one of the most important actors in history of Burmese cinema. He died of colorectal cancer in 1988. Youth Win Oo was born on 13 March 1935 as Hla Myint in Rangoon (now Yangon) to his parents U Ba Nyunt (Chit-Dukkha), a history professor at Rangoon University, and Daw Hnin Yi, as the third of five children. He matriculated at TTC (Practicing High School, passing his 10th standard examinations at the age of 14. Poe Mi
Poe Mi ( my, ပိုးမီ; born Poe Mi Mi Swe on 10 November 1988) is a Burmese singer-songwriter who gained recognition from competing in the second season of Myanmar Idol and finishing as the 2nd runner-up. Poe released her debut album ''Nout Htet Tit Yourk Ma Shi'' (Only You) on 1 March 2018. Poe Mi featured in the Idols Global's "Idol Winners of 2017". In fact, she is not actually a winner but simply featured as a winner. Taunggyi
Taunggyi ( ; Shan: ; Pa'O: ) is the capital and largest city of Shan State, Myanmar (Burma) and lies on the Thazi-Kyaingtong road at an elevation of , just north of Shwenyaung and Inle Lake within the Myelat region. Mandalay
Mandalay ( or ; ) is the second-largest city in Myanmar, after Yangon. Located on the east bank of the Irrawaddy River, 631km (392 miles) (Road Distance) north of Yangon, the city has a population of 1,225,553 (2014 census).
