Mustafa Demir
Mustafa Demir ( b 18 January 1961) is a Turkish politician, a member of parliament, the former Minister of Public Works and Housing under Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, and the founder and former chairman of the ruling AK Party's Samsun Province chapter. Biography Early life and education He was born in the Black Sea Region town of Şalpazarı in Trabzon into a family with 9 children. His father Hüseyin Demir was a famous coppersmith nicknamed 'Bakırcı Hüseyin' in the Şalpazarı District. Following his primary and high school education in Trabzon, Mustafa Demir matriculated in 1979 at Karadeniz Technical University and graduated in 1983 with a degree in architecture. A coppersmith, also known as a brazier, is a person who makes artifacts from copper and brass. Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. The term "redsmith" is used for a tinsmith that uses tinsmithing tools and techniques to make copper items. 2019 Turkish Local Elections
The Turkish local elections of 2019 were held on Sunday 31 March 2019 throughout the 81 provinces of Turkey. A total of 30 metropolitan and 1,351 district municipal mayors, alongside 1,251 provincial and 20,500 municipal councillors were elected, in addition to numerous local non-partisan positions such as neighbourhood wardens ( muhtars) and elderly people's councils. The governing Justice and Development Party (AKP) and the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) contested the elections in many provinces under a joint People's Alliance. 2007 Turkish General Election
General elections were held in Turkey on 22 July 2007 to elect 550 members to the Grand National Assembly. Originally scheduled for November, the elections were brought forward after parliament failed to elect a new president to replace Ahmet Necdet Sezer. The result was a resounding victory for the incumbent Justice and Development Party (AKP), which won 46.6% of the vote and 341 seats.
