Musta Paraati
Musta Paraati (''Black Parade'' in English) are a Finnish post-punk/gothic rock band, comparable to Killing Joke and Theatre of Hate. The original band was active for only a few years in the early 1980s, but their lineup changed many times before they dissolved circa 1985. The band made one comeback gig in 1987. Original vocalist Jore Vastelin (succeeded by Njassa and Epe Kronholm) died of a cardiac arrest in 1993 in the age of 30. The early 2000s post-punk revival led to renewed appreciation for the band, resulting in a CD release of their 1983 debut album ''Peilitalossa'' with several singles appended as bonus tracks. Musta Paraati reunited in 2015 to play several concerts in Finland, including the Provinssirock festival in Seinäjoki on June 27. This edition of the band featured the ''Peilitalossa''-era lineup with Herra Ylppö of Maj Karma replacing the late Vastelin. Theatre of Hate are a British post-punk band formed in London, England, in 1980. Led by singer-songwriter Kirk Brandon (formerly of the Pack), the original group also consisted of bassist Stan Stammers (formerly of the Straps and the Epileptics), saxophonist John "Boy" Lennard, guitarist Steve Guthrie and drummer Luke Rendle (formerly of Crisis and the Straps). Thunderstone (band)
Thunderstone is a power metal band from Helsinki, Finland. The band was formed in 2000 by guitarist Nino Laurenne and the line-up became complete in the following year. After the release of the band's self-titled debut album, '' Thunderstone'', the band toured Europe supporting Stratovarius and Symphony X. Thunderstone released its first four albums through Nuclear Blast; however, their album '' Dirt Metal'' was released in October 2009 under Sony Music label. History Thunderstone was formed in early 2000 by ex-speed/thrash Antidote guitarist Nino Laurenne as a project; his first demo was recorded at Sonic Pump Studios. Jyrki Pekka Emil Linnankivi (born 15 October 1968), known professionally as Jyrki 69, is a Finnish singer who is the lead vocalist of the rock band The 69 Eyes. In their early years, the band's sound was closer to glam metal, but since the album ''Blessed Be'' they have shifted into gothic rock. The 69 Eyes prefer to label their sound as "goth'n'roll". Jyrki's low and operatic bass-baritone vocal tone is reminiscent of fellow musicians Peter Steele of the gothic metal band Type O Negative and Andrew Eldritch of the gothic rock band The Sisters of Mercy (he covered their 1987 hit "This Corrosion" with Maryslim in 2007). Seinäjoki
Seinäjoki (; "Wall River"; la, Wegelia, formerly sv, Östermyra) is a city located in South Ostrobothnia, Finland; east of Vaasa, north of Tampere, west of Jyväskylä and southwest of Oulu. Seinäjoki originated around the Östermyra bruk iron and gunpowder factories founded in 1798. Seinäjoki became a municipality in 1868, market town in 1931 and town in 1960. Provinssirock
Provinssirock is one of the biggest rock festivals in Finland. It takes place in the city of Seinäjoki in Southern Ostrobothnia, Western Finland. The two- or three-day festival, which starts the busy Finnish rock festival season, has been held every June since 1979. The 2007 festival had a combined three-day total crowd of 55,000. In 2008 Provinssirock was organised on 13-15 June, and was sold out with a combined three-day total of 75,000 attendees watching bands and rock artists such as Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Nightwish, The Sounds, Billy Talent and Serj Tankian.
