Music Nepal (Nepali: म्यूजिक नेपाल) is a Nepalese Record label company. The company was founded in 1982 by Santosh Sharma. Initially, the company was focused in production of folk songs from different parts of the country in cassettes medium. Gradually, the company started recording various genres of music. Currently, it distributes music in digital platforms including iTunes, Spotify, Sony Music and YouTube. As of 2020, Music Nepal's YouTube channel is the most viewed entertainment channel from Nepal. The company also started its service though mobile apps in 2016 A.D. (2074 B.S.). In 2005 it founded a music school and research centre named Nepal Music Center in Kathmandu. The company has also published the list of its recordings. Prem Raja Mahat ( ne, प्रेमराजा महत) is a Nepalese folk singer. He has sung songs like ''Bajho Khet Ma'', ''Paan Ko Paat'', ''Balla Paryo Nirmaya'', and ''Simsime Panima,'' which are considered timeless Nepali classics. He is also renowned for playing sarangi, a traditional instrument from Nepal used primarily in folk music. Khem Raj Gurung was a Nepali musician and singer. Many of his songs such as "Wari Jamuna Pari Jamuna" and "Bhanchhan Budapakhale" were the biggest chartbusters of their time. He was known for singing traditional and cultural songs which had moral lessons. He was one of the top singers in Nepal during the 1990s and 2000s. Dinesh Subba ( Limbu) ( ne, दिनेश सुब्बा ) is a composer, singer and lyricist of Nepali music. Biography Dinesh Subba was born in 1962 in Tumsong Tea State of Darjeeling. Jhalak Man Gandarbha (झलकमान गन्धर्व) (29 July 1935 – 23 November 2003) was one of the most significant Nepali folk singers. He was known for popularising Gaine Geet or Gandarbha Sangeet, a popular type of folk song sang only by the Gaine or Gandarbha ethnic group of Nepal.
