Multidimensional Unit (IDF)
Unit 888 “Refaim” (. lit. "Ghost Unit") is a combined special operations task force within the 99th Infantry Division, established in 2019 by Chief of the General Staff (Israel), Israeli Chief of Staff Aviv Kochavi, Aviv Kokhavi. Battle Of Re'im
The battle of Re'im (, ) took place on 7 October 2023, when Hamas attacked Israel, initiating the Israel–Hamas war. At 10:00 am, less than five hours after Hamas attacked, fighting was reported outside of the Re'im Army Base, which is headquarters for the Gaza Division. According to one report, all of the soldiers at the base were 'killed or captured'. The base was reportedly the location of IDF drone and surveillance operations. Hamas reportedly posted a video of dead Israeli soldiers it had killed at the base. Later in the day, Israeli Defense Forces regained control of the military base. Roi Levi
Roi Yosef Levy (; 29 May 1979 – 7 October 2023) was an officer in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) with the rank of colonel who served in his last position as commander of the Multidimensional Unit. He had previously served as commander of the Fire Training Center in Melah, commander of the Bar'am Brigade, commander of the Unit 621 - 'Egoz', commander of the Hadar Battalion and commander of the 1st 'Golani' Brigade. He was killed in the battle of Re'im during an encounter with Palestinian militants during the 2023 Israel–Hamas war. Biography Levy was born in the United States and grew up in Jerusalem. He studied at the Yeshiva High School in Beit El and the Atarot Yerushalayim Yeshiva. Anti-tank Warfare
Anti-tank warfare originated from the need to develop technology and tactics to destroy tanks during World War I. 99th Infantry Division (Israel)
The Israel, Israeli 99th "Ha'Bazak" Infantry Division is a military reserves, reserve division under the aegis of the Central Command (Israel), Central Command.
