Mr Gay NZ
Big Gay Out is an LGBTQ festival in Aotearoa/New Zealand. It has been running in Auckland, New Zealand since 2000. The event was founded by the Hero Festival, but is now organised by the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa. During the event, Mr Gay New Zealand is chosen. History The Big Gay Out was initiated by organisers of the Hero Festival, and was a play on words mimicking the music festival; Big Day Out. The event is always held at Coyle Park, in Point Chevalier. Organisers of the event stated that its location was intended to get back at former mayor Les Mills, who resided nearby and had a history of opposing pride events. In 2003, leadership of the event passed from the Hero Festival to the NZ AIDS Foundation (now known as the Burnett Foundation Aotearoa). Charles Chauvel (politician)
Charles Pierre Chauvel (born 16 April 1969) is a New Zealand lawyer and former politics of New Zealand, New Zealand politician who was a Labour list Member of parliament, Member of Parliament (2006–2013) until his resignation to take up a position with the United Nations Development Programme, UN Development Programme. Pieter T
Pieter Tuhoro (born 1987), known by his stage name Pieter T, is a New Zealand R&B singer and music producer. He was originally a member in the short lived music group, Boyband in 2006. Pieter T made his solo musical debut in 2009 with the single ''Cold Nights'' followed by the singles, ''Stay With Me'', ''Can't Stop Loving You'' and ''Something Else'' which peaked at number six on the NZ Radio Charts. Emily Williams
Emily Williams (born 8 October 1984) is a New Zealand singer, songwriter and actress. She rose to fame in 2005 on the third season of ''Australian Idol'' and became the runner-up of the competition. After ''Idol'', Williams signed with Sony BMG Australia and enjoyed commercial success as a member of the Australian girl group Young Divas. Lavina Rose Williams (born 13 June 1979) is a New Zealand musical artist and musical theatre performer. Williams began her career as a member of the 1990s the girl group Ma-V-Elle. The group had multiple songs in the New Zealand music charts, including ''Never Say Goodbye'', ''Freedom'', ''Show Me Heaven'', and ''Three Flow''. In 2006, Williams competed in the 4th season of Australian Idol (season 4), Australian Idol, finishing in the top 8 of the competition. Mika X (born Terrance John Pou on 8 February 1962, later renamed Neil Gudsell, also known as Mika and as Mika Haka) is a New Zealand Māori singer, performance artist, actor, filmmaker, TV producer and comedian. Brooke Duff
Brooke Duff is a New Zealand recording artist and songwriter. She was discovered by Illegal Musik, who eventually signed her to the record label, along with its counterpart Warner Music Group. Zoe Fleury, better known by her stage name Zowie, is a singer-songwriter from New Zealand. Zowie has toured with artists Katy Perry, Mark Ronson, The Kills and Peaches under the name Bionic Pixie.
