Mount Binuluan
Mount Binuluan (also known as Ambalatungan) is a remote volcano in the Kalinga (province), Kalinga Provinces of the Philippines, province of the Cordillera Administrative Region of the Philippines. The mountain is part of the Cordillera Central, Luzon, Cordillera Central mountain range on Luzon island, the largest island in the country. Binuluan exhibits active volcanism through numerous fumarole fields, solfataras and hot springs on its slope. There were reports of possible eruptions in 1952 and 1986 (or 1987), but they are unverified. Geography Mount Binuluan [Bin-oo-loo-ahn (Lubuaganyen dialect)] is one of the highest peaks in the area. This is a list of active volcanoes in the Philippines, as categorized by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS). Volcanoes in the country have erupted within the last 600 years, with accounts of these eruptions documented by humans; or have erupted within the last 10,000 years (Holocene). As of 2018, PHIVOLCS has listed 24 volcanoes as Volcano#Active, active in the Philippines, 21 of which have had historical eruptions. Solfatara
A fumarole (or fumerole) is a vent in the surface of the Earth or other rocky planet from which hot volcanic gases and vapors are emitted, without any accompanying liquids or solids. Fumaroles are characteristic of the late stages of volcanic activity, but fumarole activity can also precede a volcanic eruption and has been used for eruption prediction. Most fumaroles die down within a few days or weeks of the end of an eruption, but a few are persistent, lasting for decades or longer. An area containing fumaroles is known as a fumarole field. Patoc
Patoc is a strongly fumarolic stratovolcano in the Philippines. Patoc is located in Mountain Province, part of the Cordillera Central range, on the island of Luzon, in the Philippines. It is located 6 cadastral kilometres north of Bontoc, at latitude 17.147°N (17°8'48"N), longitude 120.98°E (120°58'48"E). Physical features Elevation is reported as above sea level, and is described by the Smithsonian Institution as displaying strong fumarolic activity. A stream and village on the west side are named Mainit (a Tagalog word for "hot"). There are hot springs at the village of Mainit, one of which has been successfully commercialised for tourists.
