Rodrigo Sorogoyen del Amo (born 16 September 1981) is a Spanish film director and screenwriter. He won the Goya Award for Best Director and the Goya Award for Best Original Screenplay for '' The Realm''. He was previously nominated for the Goya Award for Best New Director for '' Stockholm'', and the Goya Award for Best Director and the Goya Award for Best Original Screenplay for ''May God Save Us''. The Málaga Film Festival, formerly Málaga Spanish Film Festival (FMCE), is an annual film festival held in Málaga, Spain. The festival was established to promote Spanish cinema and help disseminate information about Spanish films. Since 2017, it features an additional focus on Ibero-American films. History The first edition ran from 29 May to 6 June 1998. The guest of honor was Fernando Fernán Gómez, and the retrospective was dedicated to Montxo Armendariz. The festival's first 11 editions were directed by Salomón Castiel. In 2009, Castiel was replaced by Carmelo Romero, who helmed the festival until 2012. 2017 Toronto International Film Festival
The 42nd annual Toronto International Film Festival was held from 7 to 17 September 2017. There were fourteen programmes, with the Vanguard and City to City programmes both being retired from previous years, with the total number of films down by 20% from the 2016 edition. '' Borg/McEnroe'' directed by Janus Metz Pedersen opened the festival. According to a "fact sheet" released by the Festival before it began, this edition included 255 feature-length films and 84 short films. Of the feature films, 147 are claimed to be world premieres. ''Diario Sur'' (also called ''SUR'') (English: Southern Daily) is a regional newspaper of Málaga, Spain. It is owned by the Prensa Malagueña, S.A., owned by Grupo Vocento. The Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film is an award presented at the annual Academy Awards ceremony. The award has existed, under various names, since 1957. From 1936 until 1956 there were two separate awards, "Best Short Subject, One-reel" and "Best Short Subject, Two-reel", referring to the running time of the short: a standard Reel#Motion picture terminology, reel of film is 1000 feet, or about 11 minutes of run time. A third category "Best Short Subject, color" was used only for 1936 and 1937.
