Morgan Hurd
Morgan Elizabeth Hurd (born July 18, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast and a five-time member of the United States women's national team (2016–21). She is the 2017 World all-around champion and balance beam silver medalist and the 2018 World all-around bronze medalist and floor exercise silver medalist. She has won four medals at the USA Gymnastics National Championships during her senior career and is a two-time American Cup champion. She was a member of the gold-medal winning American teams at the 2018 World Championships and the 2019 Pan American Games. Personal life Hurd was adopted from Wuzhou, China when she was 11 months old. At age 3, she was enrolled in gymnastics. Hurd started training at First State Gymnastics when she was in fifth grade. She currently resides in Middletown, Delaware with her mother, Sherri. She is one of the rare elite gymnasts to wear glasses during competition. Angelina Romanovna Melnikova ( rus, Ангели́на Рома́новна Ме́льникова, , ɐnɡʲɪˈlʲinə ˈmʲelʲnʲɪkəvə; born 18 July 2000) is a Russian artistic gymnast. Tabea Lara Alt (born 18 March 2000) is a former German elite artistic gymnast. She is the 2017 World bronze medalist on balance beam, and a 2016 Olympian. She competed at the 2016 Gymnastics Olympic Test Event, contributing to the team placing of second, which qualified the German team for the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, the German team finished 6th in the team all-around competition. Career 2016 At the 2016 American Cup, Alt finished seventh in the all-around with a score of 54.399. The Nastia Liukin Cup (formerly the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup from 2010–11) is an annual artistic gymnastics competition held in the United States and hosted by Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin. History In August 2009, USA Gymnastics announced that they had partnered with 2008 Olympic champion Nastia Liukin to create a competitive opportunity for the country's top Junior Olympic gymnasts that is intended to serve as a debut for pre-elite competitors on the national stage.
