Nastia Liukin Cup
The Nastia Liukin Cup (formerly the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup from 2010–11) is an annual artistic gymnastics competition held in the United States and hosted by Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin. History In August 2009, USA Gymnastics announced that they had partnered with 2008 Olympic champion Nastia Liukin to create a competitive opportunity for the country's top Junior Olympic gymnasts that is intended to serve as a debut for pre-elite competitors on the national stage. The inaugural Nastia Liukin Cup was held in 2010 and had 36 participants. Eligible to compete are Level 10 female gymnasts in both the junior and senior fields. Gymnasts will be chosen to participate from a series of invitationals known as the Nastia Liukin Cup Series. Prior to 2014, junior and senior gymnasts competed in the same field. Artistic gymnastics is a discipline of gymnastics in which athletes perform short routines on different apparatuses. 2018 American Cup
The 2018 American Cup was part of the World Cup circuit in artistic gymnastics. Participants Results Women Men Nastia Liukin Cup The 9th annual Nastia Liukin Cup was held in conjunction with the 2018 American Cup. Since its inception in 2010, the competition has always been held on the Friday night before the American Cup, in the same arena. Gymnastics At The 2012 Summer Olympics
Three gymnastics disciplines were contested at the 2012 Olympic Games in London: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampolining. The trampoline events were held at the North Greenwich Arena (normally called The O2 Arena) from 3 to 4 August; the artistic events were also held at the North Greenwich Arena, from 28 July to 7 August. The rhythmic gymnastics events took place at Wembley Arena from 9 to 12 August. A total of 54 medals were awarded across the three disciplines. The most successful nation was China, winning five gold medals and 12 in total. Brazil and South Korea won their first gold medal in the discipline in the history of the Summer Olympic Games. Gabrielle Christina Victoria Douglas (born December 31, 1995) is an American artistic gymnastics, artistic gymnast. She is the Gymnastics at the 2012 Summer Olympics, 2012 Olympic all around champion and the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2015 World all-around silver medalist. 2020 American Cup
The 2020 American Cup was part of the World Cup circuit in artistic gymnastics. It was the only All-Around World Cup help in 2020 as the others were canceled due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Background The American Cup was originally to be the first of four All-Around World Cups to be used as a way for countries to qualify an additional Olympic berth for the 2020 Olympic Games. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the remaining World Cups in Birmingham, Stuttgart, and Tokyo were originally postponed until 2021 after the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics. However, in 2021 the World Cups were officially canceled and the Olympic berths were awarded to the top three countries from qualification during the 2019 World Championships.
