2018 American Cup
The 2018 American Cup was part of the World Cup circuit in artistic gymnastics. Participants Results Women Men Nastia Liukin Cup The 9th annual Nastia Liukin Cup was held in conjunction with the 2018 American Cup. Since its inception in 2010, the competition has always been held on the Friday night before the American Cup, in the same arena. Medal winners Notable competitors Senior winner Haleigh Bryant would go on to win the 2020 Nastia Liukin Cup. Additionally she was the 2021 NCAA champion on vault. Senior competitor Natalie Wojcik would go on to win the balance beam title at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Mao Yi
Mao Yi (; born 16 September 1999) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. She won the silver medal with the team in 2015 World Gymnastic Championships. She competed in the 2016 Olympic Games, where she and her teammates won a bronze medal in the team event. Senior career Mao started her senior career in 2015. She was selected into the National Team in February, 2015. In May, she competed at the 2015 Chinese National Championships, winning silver with the Shanghai Team. She also placed fourth in the all-around, eighth on both balance beam and floor. 2020 American Cup
The 2020 American Cup was part of the World Cup circuit in artistic gymnastics. It was the only All-Around World Cup help in 2020 as the others were canceled due to the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic. Background The American Cup was originally to be the first of four All-Around World Cups to be used as a way for countries to qualify an additional Olympic berth for the 2020 Olympic Games. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the remaining World Cups in Birmingham, Stuttgart, and Tokyo were originally postponed until 2021 after the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics. However, in 2021 the World Cups were officially canceled and the Olympic berths were awarded to the top three countries from qualification during the 2019 World Championships. For men's artistic gymnastics this was Russia, China, and Japan; for women's it was the United States, China, and Russia. Faith Torrez
Faith Torrez (born December 9, 2003) is an American artistic gymnast. She became a member of the United States national team in 2020 and made her international debut at 2020 Gymnix International, winning two golds and a bronze. Career Junior Torrez began gymnastics in 2008. As a junior, she competed at the Women's Junior Olympic National Championships in 2016, 2017, and 2018. She won gold on floor exercise in 2017. In 2018, she won all-around and balance beam gold, as well as floor exercise silver. In 2018, she competed at the Nastia Liukin Cup for the first time and won all-around bronze. Haleigh Bryant
Haleigh Alexandra Bryant (born December 20, 2001) is an American artistic gymnast currently competing for Louisiana State University in the NCAA. She is the 2021 NCAA Champion on vault. Early life Bryant was born in Atlanta in 2001 to Terry and Trisha Bryant. She started training in gymnastics in 2004 and moved to North Carolina in 2011. Gymnastics career Level 10 2016–2017 Bryant competed at the 2016 Nastia Liukin Cup where she placed sixth in the junior division. Nastia Liukin Cup
The Nastia Liukin Cup (formerly the Nastia Liukin Supergirl Cup from 2010–11) is an annual artistic gymnastics competition held in the United States and hosted by Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin. History In August 2009, USA Gymnastics announced that they had partnered with 2008 Olympic champion Nastia Liukin to create a competitive opportunity for the country's top Junior Olympic gymnasts that is intended to serve as a debut for pre-elite competitors on the national stage.
