Montpellier Basket
Montpellier Paillade Basket was a French basketball club, based in the city of Montpellier. The club has evolved among the elite of French basketball (N1A and Pro) for 14 seasons between 1989 and 2002, but was dissolved in 2002 after filing for bankruptcy that same year. History Created in 1982, following the merger of clubs ''"AS Paillade"'' and ''"Juvignac"'', the club was taken over by Louis Nicollin in the mid 80s and became the basketball section of Montpellier Paillade Sports Club (MPSC). In 1989, under pressure from the municipality, the section takes its autonomy under the name Montpellier Basketball and now plays in blue and white. The club will then take the appellation Montpellier Paillade Basketball to emphasize its roots in the district of Paillade where is the Palace of Pierre de Coubertin sports. LNB Pro B
The LNB Pro B, commonly known as Pro B, is the French basketball league system, 2nd-tier level men's professional basketball league in France. It is the second division of the Ligue Nationale de Basket (LNB), which has organized the league since the year 1987. The regular season champion and the winner of the promotion playoffs from each Pro B season are promotion and relegation, promoted to the French basketball league system, top-tier level LNB Pro A, replaced by the bottom two teams in Pro A. The two last placed teams are relegated to the third level, which is the Nationale Masculine 1, NM1. Montpellier Hérault Sport Club (), commonly referred to as Montpellier HSC or simply Montpellier, is a French professional football club based in the city of Montpellier in Occitanie. The original club was founded in 1919, while the current incarnation was founded through a merger in 1974. The LNB Pro A, currently known for sponsorship reasons as Betclic Élite, is the top-tier men's professional basketball league in France. The competition has existed since 1921. Since 1987, the Ligue Nationale de Basket has governed the league. The bottom two placed teams from each season are relegated to the second tier level Pro B. The winner of the play-offs of the Pro A is crowned the French national champion. Competition format All 16 Pro A League teams play each other twice during the regular season. At the end of the regular season, the top eight teams qualify for the playoffs. The two teams with the worst regular season records are relegated to the 2nd-tier Pro B. Hervé Dubuisson (born 8 August 1957) is a French former professional basketball player and coach. During his playing career, at a height of 1.97 m (6'5 ") tall, he played at the shooting guard and small forward positions. Dubuisson is the French Championship's all-time career leader in total points scored. He is also the senior French national team's all-time career leader in total points scored. Troy Sidney Brown (born April 3, 1971) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in Lynn, Massachusetts, Brown played college basketball, collegiately at Providence College where he played small forward. As a senior in 1994–95, he averaged 12 points and 7.9 rebound (basketball), rebounds per game and shot 52 percent from the field. Tony Windless (born October 14, 1969) is an American retired professional basketball player with a notable career stretching over a decade in the British Basketball League. A big time player, over the years Tony has collected every honour in the game and is often touted as one of the greatest players to grace the British leagues.
