Moldir Zhangbyrbay (born 18 May 1997) is a Kazakhstani professional karateka, she currently represents Kazakhstan internationally Kumite (Karate) event. Career *She is three time gold medalist in Asian Karate Championships (Continental Championship) in individual Kumite U-50 Kg Category in the year of 2018 in Japan and 2017 in Kazakhstan and she also won several medals in the World Karate Federation Karate 1 Leagues and Series Championships. The 2019 Asian Karate Championships were the 16th edition of the Asian Karate Championships, and were held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan from July 19 to July 21, 2019. In the women's 68 kg event, the gold medalist Nodira Djumaniyazova of Uzbekistan has violated WKF Anti-doping Rules, Art Rules. Karate was an event held in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan. It was the debut appearance of karate at the Summer Olympics. Karate was one of four optional sports added to the Olympic program specifically for 2020, rather than as a permanent sport. After it was announced not to be included in 2024, in August 2022 it was announced that karate had made the shortlist for inclusion in the 2028 Games, although it was ultimately not selected. The karate competitions at the 2020 Olympics featured eight events. Two karate disciplines were featured: kumite was the sparring discipline and had three weight classes each for men and women; kata was the solo form discipline, and had one event each for men and women.
