Moisey Feigin
Moses (Moisey) Aleksandrovich Feigin (russian: Моисей Александрович Фейгин; 23 October 1904 – 26 April 2008) was a Soviet and Russian artist of Jewish descent. Feigin held the Guinness World Record for the world's oldest professional working artist until his death in 2008 at the age of 103. A centenarian, he was considered the last representative of the Russian avant-garde art. Feigin was born on 23 October 1904. He was the last surviving member of the Bubnovyi Valet, an art group that was active during the early 20th century. His last personal art exhibition was held from 27 April until 10 May 2007 at the Central House of Artists in Moscow, Russia. Feigin was 102 years and 199 days old at the time that this last exhibition opened. The Guinness World Records officially certified Feigin as the world's oldest professional working artist in February 2008 based on this art exhibition. Feigin died on 26 April 2008 in Moscow. Artist
An artist is a person engaged in an activity related to creating art, practicing the arts, or demonstrating an art. The common usage in both everyday speech and academic discourse refers to a practitioner in the visual arts only. ''Guinness World Records'', known from its inception in 1955 until 1999 as ''The Guinness Book of Records'' and in previous United States editions as ''The Guinness Book of World Records'', is a reference book published annually, listing world records both of human achievements and the extremes of the natural world. The brainchild of Sir Hugh Beaver, the book was co-founded by twin brothers Norris and Ross McWhirter in Fleet Street, London, in August 1955. A centenarian is a person who has reached the age of 100 years. Because life expectancies worldwide are below 100 years, the term is invariably associated with longevity. In 2012, the United Nations estimated that there were 316,600 living centenarians worldwide. As world population and life expectancy continue to increase, the number of centenarians is expected to increase substantially in the 21st century. According to the UK ONS, one-third of babies born in 2013 in the UK are expected to live to 100. The United Nations predicts that there are 573,000 centenarians currently, almost quadruple the 151,000 suggested in the year 2000. Knave of Diamonds (russian: «Бубновый валет», Romanized: Bubnovyi Valet), also called Jack Of Diamonds, was a circle of avant-garde artists in Russia, heavily influenced by French styles, who sought "to unite the stylistic system of Cezanne with the primitive traditions of folk art, the Russian ''lubok'' (popular prints) and tradesman's signs." Named for the eponymous exhibition held in Moscow in 1910, the group's intention was to provoke the art establishment in Russia, challenge "good taste," and shock. A man is an adult male human. Prior to adulthood, a male human is referred to as a boy (a male child or adolescent). Like most other male mammals, a man's genome usually inherits an X chromosome from the mother and a Y chromosome from the father.
