Mohammad Aslam Khan ( ur, ) is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan from August 2018 till January 2023. Political career He was elected to the National Assembly of Pakistan from Constituency NA-254 (Karachi Central-II) as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in the 2018 Pakistani general election. Resignation In April 2022, he also resigned from the National Assembly seat along with all PTI members after the successful no-confidence motion against Imran Khan. Like most PTI MNAs, his resignation had not been immediately accepted. His resignation was accepted on 17 January 2023. On 29 May 2023, he resigned from the PTI due to the 2023 Pakistani protests. 2018 Pakistani General Election
General elections were held in Pakistan on Wednesday, 25 July 2018 to elect the members of 15th National Assembly and the four Provincial Assemblies. The three major parties Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran Khan, the Pakistan Muslim League led by Shehbaz Sharif and the Pakistan Peoples Party led by Bilawal Bhutto. No-confidence Motion Against Imran Khan
In April 2022, a no-confidence motion against Imran Khan led to his removal as the prime minister of Pakistan. Based largely on the Westminster system of legislature, the prime minister commands confidence of the majority of the lower house of Parliament, the National Assembly of Pakistan, under clause (2A) of Article 91 of the Constitution. Dawn News is one of Pakistan's 24-hour Urdu news channel. Based in Karachi, the station is a subsidiary of Pakistan Herald Publications Limited (PHPL), Pakistan's largest English-language media group. The test transmission of the station occurred on 25 May 2007, and the channel went live on 23 July 2007. Originally broadcast in English, on 15 May 2010, Dawn News converted into an Urdu news channel after successful test transmission of four hours a day. 2023 Pakistani Protests
The 2023 Pakistani protests, or the Imran Khan Arrest protests were a series of protests and riots across Pakistan that started in March 2023. The first of these protests erupted on Tuesday 14 March 2023 after the Pakistani Punjab Police force attempted to arrest Imran Khan—but called off their operation due to the Pakistan Super League Cricket match. Little over one month later, on Tuesday 9 May 2023 Khan was arrested—triggering violent protests and demonstrations.
