Mohamed Idris
Mohamed Younis Idris (born 15 September 1989) is a Sudanese athlete specialising in the high jump. He represented his country at the 2013 World Championships without qualifying for the final. In addition, he has won multiple medals on regional level. He has personal bests of 2.28 metres outdoors (Namur 2015) and 2.28 metres indoors (Bordeaux 2014). Both are current national records. He won the 2016 French Indoor Championships with 2.25 m and had close attempts at 2.29 m. Career Mohamed Younis Idris gained his first international experience in 2005 at the Junior African Championships in Radès, where he finished fourth with a leap of 2.06m. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The Arab Games ( ar, الألعاب العربية), also called the Pan Arab Games, are a regional multi-sport event held between nations from the Arab world. They are organized by the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees. The first Games took place in 1953 in Alexandria, Egypt. Majd Eddin Ghazal ( ar, مجد الدين غزال; born 21 April 1987) is a Syrian high jumper. He utilizes the Fosbury Flop style, jumping off his left leg. He was the national flag bearer at the 2012 Summer Olympics and at the 2016 Summer Olympics. In the Men's high jump event, he ranked 28th and did not advance to the final in 2012. He qualified for the finals and finished 7th in 2016. Mutaz Essa Barshim ( ar, معتز عيسى برشم, Muʿtazz ʿĪsā Baršim; born 24 June 1991) is a Qatari track and field athlete who competes in the high jump and is the current Olympic Champion (2020). He is also the current World Champion and second best jumper of all-time with a personal best of 2.43. He won gold at the 2017 World Championships in London and at the 2019 World Championships in Doha. Arab Athletics Championships
The Arab Athletics Championships is an event organized by the Arab Athletic Association. It traditionally occurred every two years. It was not held in 1985 due to the schedule clash with the Pan Arab Games. However, due to the erratic scheduling of the games, both the athletics championships and games athletics competition have been held in the same year on several occasions since 1997. Typically, the championships is rescheduled to earlier in the year as a result. Women's events have been present on the programme since the second edition in 1979.
