Miramar Towers
The Miramar Towers are two skyscrapers located in Avenida Balboa and Calle Federico Boyd, Panama City. Once, the hotel and residential tower complex were the tallest buildings in Panama at 168 m (551 ft), with 55 floors. The Miramar Towers generated much controversy locally since their construction has made expansion of Balboa avenue impossible. Other environmental groups also protested the building's blocking of a previously uninterrupted view to the ocean from the steep Federico Boyd boulevard. Avenida Balboa
Avenida Balboa is a road in Panama City, Panama. It is named after Vasco Nuñez de Balboa, It is approximately 3.5 km long and is located along the Pacific Ocean, making it one of the biggest attractions for real estate development in the city. Along the avenue lies one of the main financial centers of the city. The road intersects with the Corredor Sur across the bridge of the Slaves and Israel road via the bridge Paitilla. Its average traffic is approximately 75,000 vehicles per day. The average cost of the road is $2000 per square meter, making it the most expensive road in Panama. Avenida Balboa was completely remodelled and expanded in 2009. The aims of the expansion were to make the road a major tourist attraction and an important meeting point for the city. Panama City

Federico Boyd
Federico Augusto Boyd López (24 September 1851 – 25 May 1924) was acting President of Panama from October 1, 1910 to October 5, 1910. He belonged to the Liberal Party. Boyd was born in Panama City on September 24, 1851. He was the son of Archibaldo B. Boyd and Maria Lopez de Boyd. He was a businessman who became an active member of the Patriotic Revolutionary Junta that struggled to get Panama's independence from Colombia. He fought in favor of his country without thinking of the danger of the actions he undertook.
