Minor Alps
''Get There'' is a studio album collaboration by American singer-songwriter Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws (lead singer of the band Nada Surf) under the band name Minor Alps. It was released on October 29, 2013 by Barsuk Records. Background Juliana Hatfield and Matthew Caws, friends and infrequent collaborators since the early 1990s—they met at some Nada Surf shows—decided to form a band together and work on a project that is this resulting record. The name of the band, Minor Alps, is a reference to the location of a cottage Caws' parents owned in France near Mont Ventoux. Caws described the mountain as a "minor alp" to a friend, and the expression stuck in his mind. "In the tradition of Iron Butterfly or Led Zeppelin, band names that contain contradictions, we chose Minor Alps—humble mountains," said Caws. Juliana Hatfield
Juliana Hatfield (born July 27, 1967) is an American musician and singer-songwriter from the Boston area, formerly of the indie rock bands Blake Babies, Some Girls (band), Some Girls, and The Lemonheads. She also fronted her own band, The Juliana Hatfield Three, along with bassist Dean Fisher and drummer Todd Philips, which was active in the mid-1990s and again in the mid-2010s. It was with the Juliana Hatfield Three that she produced her best-charting work, including the critically acclaimed albums ''Become What You Are'' (1993) and ''Whatever, My Love'' (2015) and the singles "My Sister (Juliana Hatfield song), My Sister" (1993) and "Spin the Bottle" (1994). Say Hi (previously known as Say Hi to Your Mom) is a Seattle-based indie rock band formed in Brooklyn in 2002 by Eric Elbogen. Say Hi's albums are recorded at Elbogen's home, with him playing all of the instruments & providing vocals. Background information Eric Elbogen was born in 1976 and grew up in San Fernando Valley, California. He attended UCLA. He moved to Brooklyn, New York & created Say Hi to Your Mom in 2002. Melotron
Melotron is a futurepop and synthpop band from Germany. In 1995 Andy Krueger, Edgar Slatnow and Kay Hildebrandt left their former band, The Vermin, to form Melotron. The band found success with their first single, "Dein Meister," in 1998. Their 2007 single "Das Herz" charted at no. 81 in the German mainstream charts. Until 2007, Melotron was a band with mostly German-only lyrics (the chorus of the B-Side "2 Young 2 Die" on their inaugural single release, "Dein Meister", was sung in English amid German verses). However, on their album ''Propaganda'', "Broken" is sung entirely in English. Melotron has performed at a number of major electronic and industrial festivals, amongst these the Wave Gotik Treffen festival in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2012, and the M'era Luna Festival in 2001, 2003, and 2005. A broken chord is a chord broken into a sequence of notes. A broken chord may repeat some of the notes from the chord and span one or more octaves. Metacritic is a website that review aggregator, aggregates reviews of films, TV shows, music albums, video games and formerly, books. For each product, the scores from each review are averaged (a weighted arithmetic mean, weighted average). Metacritic was created by Jason Dietz, Marc Doyle, and Julie Doyle Roberts in 1999. The site provides an excerpt from each review and hyperlinks to its source. A color of green, yellow or red summarizes the critics' recommendations. It is regarded as the foremost online review aggregation site for the video game industry. The Roland TR-909 Rhythm Composer is a drum machine introduced by Roland Corporation in 1983, succeeding the TR-808. It was the first Roland drum machine to use samples for some sounds, and the first with MIDI functionality, allowing it to synchronize with other devices. Though it was a commercial failure, the 909 became influential in the development of electronic dance music genres such as techno, house and acid. Design The 909 was designed by Tadao Kikumoto, who also designed the Roland TB-303 synthesizer. Solange Piaget Knowles (; born June 24, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, performance artist, and actress. Danielle "Danz" Johnson (born February 20, 1989), known professionally as Danz CM and formerly Computer Magic, is an American musician and producer based in New York City. She is a singer, songwriter, composer, music producer, DJ, and the founder of the music project Synth History and the indie record label Channel 9 Records.
