Minister Plenipotentiary Of Aruba
The Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba ( nl, Gevolmachtigde Minister van Aruba) represents the constituent country of Aruba in the Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The current Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba is Guillfred Besaril. The Minister Plenipotentiary and his cabinet are seated in the Arubahuis (Aruba House) in The Hague. A significant difference between the Netherlands ministers and the Ministers Plenipotentiary is that the former ministers are accountable for their politics and policies to the Dutch parliament. The Ministers Plenipotentiary, however, are accountable to their national governments, which is the Estates of Aruba in case of Aruba. Therefore, the Ministers Plenipotentiary usually do not resign in the event of a Dutch cabinet crisis. Ella Tromp-Yarzagaray
Alicia Angela Tromp-Yarzagaray, known as Ella Tromp-Yarzagaray, is an Aruban former politician of the People's Electoral Movement party. She was the first woman to hold the positions of Minister of Finance and Minister Plenipotentiary in the country. Biography After graduating from Meer Uitgebreid Lager Onderwijs, comparable to junior high school, Ella obtained diplomas in bookkeeping, modern business administration, and introductory trade. Initially, she worked in business, but moved into education in 1976. She first worked as an Economic, Tourism, and Administrative Education teacher, then as an Economics teacher, and finally as a Secondary Administrative Education teacher. Juan David Yrausquin
Juan David Yrausquin (born 1 January 1980) is an Aruban politician. He was Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba between 17 November 2016 and 20 November 2017. He was Minister of Finance between 2013 and 2014 in the second Mike Eman cabinet. Career In June 2009 Yrausquin joined the Aruban People's Party and in the September 2009 general elections he obtained a seat in the Estates of Aruba on the basis of preferential votes, while he was candidate number 29 on the list. On 30 October 2013 Yrausquin was named as Finance Minister in the second Mike Eman cabinet. On 5 July 2014 he resigned, citing "incredible abuse of power by the Dutch government in collaboration with the Governor (Fredis Refunjol)". Alfonso Boekhoudt
Juan Alfonso Boekhoudt (born 27 January 1965) is an Aruban politician serving as the governor of Aruba since 1 January 2017. He previously served as minister plenipotentiary from 14 November 2013 to 17 November 2016. Life Boekhoudt was born on Aruba on 27 January 1965. Between 1991 and 1994 he worked in the cabinet of the minister plenipotentiary of Aruba. From 1994 to 2005 he worked as financial manager and director in the private sector. He served as director of the Aruba Ports Authority between 2005 and 2013. He also served as the chairman of the Aruba Red Cross between October 2010 and November 2013. Francisco Walfrido "Frido" Croes (3 December 1957 – 9 October 2020) was an Aruban politician and schoolteacher who held the office of Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba from 2005 to 2009. Prior to that, he served as a member of the Estates of Aruba from 1989 to 1994, and as its President from 2001 to 2004. He also served as Minister of Education from 2004 to 2005. Aruban People's Party
The Aruban People's Party (AVP; nl, Arubaanse Volkspartij, pap, Partido di Pueblo Arubano) is a Christian-democratic political party in Aruba founded in 1942. AVP is an acronym for the Dutch name of the party. At the 2001 elections, on 28 September 2001, the party won 26.7% of popular votes or 6 out of 21 seats. On 23 September 2005, the party won 38% of the popular vote or 8 out of 21 seats, making it the largest opposition party of the nation. Antonito Gordiano "Mito" Croes (10 May 1946 – 7 August 2016) was an Aruban politician of the Aruban People's Party. He served as Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba from 1994 to 2001. The Aruban Patriotic Party ( Papiamento: ''Partido Patriotico Arubano'', PPA) is a political party in Aruba. It was founded in 1949. Prior to Aruba's independence, it was a supporter of a unified, independent Netherlands Antilles.
