Mini Sky City
Mini Sky City (小天城) is a 57-story, 204m high building in Changsha, the capital of Hunan province in China. It was built in 19 days in 2015 by Broad Sustainable Building, a subsidiary of China's Broad Group, using a modular construction system. The company has ambitions to use similar techniques to build a much larger project, Sky City, which is intended to be 220 stories tall. Broad Sustainable Building
Broad Sustainable Building Co., LTD (BSB) (Chinese:远大可建科技) is a construction company and a wholly owned subsidiary of Broad Group, specializing in developing prefabricated buildings. Several of its projects from BSB drew media attention after being erected in weeks, assembling up entire floors in a single day, while reducing costs. One of its projects, which is currently on hold, was to assemble the Sky City, a 220 floor building in Changsha in only 90 days. If completed, the building would become the tallest in the world. Broad Group is a private manufacturer of central air conditioning non-electric absorption chillers that are powered by natural gas and waste heat based in Changsha, China. It is also the parent company of Broad Sustainable Building, a prefab building company. The company was established in 1996 and exports products to over 60 countries. It was Shanghai Expo 2010's only global official partner that was a Chinese private enterprise and the exclusive supplier of central air conditioning, ventilation and air purification products for the event. Sky City (Changsha)
Sky City (), or Sky City One, was an planned skyscraper in the city of Changsha, Hunan in south-central China. The prospective builders, Broad Sustainable Building, estimated it would take just 90 days to construct. Including the 120 days required for prefabrication before on-site work commenced, the sum of time needed was 210 days. Pre-construction activities were halted in August 2013 after government regulators required additional approvals. Broad Sustainable Building had intended to build a skyscraper, but the local government wanted the world's tallest building, hence the current plans. The company has constructed 20 buildings in China using the same method and has several franchise partners globally. SkyCity Challenge
SkyCity (originally known as the Eye of the Needle) was a revolving restaurant and bar situated atop the Space Needle in Seattle, Washington, United States. Description and history The restaurant featured a carousel (or ring-shaped) dining floor on which sat patrons' tables, chairs, and dining booths. Its floor revolved on a track and wheel system weighing roughly 125 tons, moving at a rate of one revolution every 47 minutes. It was the oldest operating revolving restaurant in the world at the time of its closure. Due to the balance and precision of its design, the floor's rotation is accomplished using just a single 1½-horsepower motor.
