Mimi Kihle
Mimi Azora Kihle (July 9, 1899 – July 4, 1993) was a Norwegian actress. Family Kihle was born in Horten, Norway. She was the daughter of the torpedo lieutenant Karl August Kihle (1873–1953) and Helga Josephine (née Johannesdatter, 1876–1959). Her father was the son of Abraham Abrahamsen, and in the 1900 census the family is listed under the surname ''Abrahamsen'' (rather than ''Kihle''). In 1931, Kihle married Finn Myklegaard (1901–1986), who was an editor and owner of a publishing house. Career Kihle debuted at the Central Theater in 1923 as Gerty in ''Der keusche Lebemann'' (The Chaste Libertine, Norwegian title: ''Levemanden'') by Franz Arnold and Ernst Bach. She saw great success as a guest performer at the Apollo Theater in Copenhagen in 1931, where she starred as Pussy Angora in ''Unter Geschäftsaufsicht'' (Business in Distress, Norwegian title: ''Pussy'') by the same authors. Horten
is a town and municipality in Vestfold in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway—located along the Oslofjord. The administrative centre of the municipality is the town of Horten. The municipality also includes the town of Åsgårdstrand and the villages of Borre, Skoppum, and Nykirke. The town of Horten was separated from the municipality of Borre to become a municipality of its own in 1858. The neighboring municipalities of Borre and Horten were merged back together on 1 January 1988. The name of the new united municipality was first ''Borre'', but after a referendum it was changed to ''Horten'' on 1 June 2002. The local newspaper in Horten is named Gjengangeren, and covers mostly local news. It is also available online (see external links section). ''Fantegutten'' (The Gypsy) is a Norwegian film from 1932 directed by Leif Sinding. Sinding also wrote the screenplay, which was based on Harald Meltzer's novel of the same name, published posthumously in 1873. Egil Sætren designed the sets. Plot The film opens in a valley on a spring day. A couple is buried in an avalanche, but their son Iver miraculously succeeds in escaping. He is found by the wealthy farmer Sjur Rognved, who lets the boy stay with him. Growing up, Ivar falls in love with the farmer's daughter Ragnhild, who returns his love. One day a group of Gypsies comes to the farm, and a woman in the group, Marja, recognizes Iver as her nephew. His Master's Voice
His Master's Voice (HMV) was the name of a major British record label created in 1901 by The Gramophone Co. Ltd. The phrase was coined in the late 1890s from the title of a painting by English artist Francis Barraud, which depicted a Jack Russell Terrier dog named Nipper listening to a wind-up disc gramophone and tilting his head. In the original, unmodified 1898 painting, the dog was listening to a cylinder phonograph. The painting was also famously used as the trademark and logo of the Victor Talking Machine Company, later known as RCA Victor. In the 1970s, an award was created which is a copy of the statue of the dog and gramophone, ''His Master's Voice'', cloaked in bronze, and was presented by the record company (EMI) to artists, music producers and composers in recognition of selling more than 1,000,000 recordings. Kai Normann Andersen
Kai Normann Andersen (11 April 1900 – 24 June 1967) was a Danish composer who wrote film scores and music for stage revues and dramas. He composed songs for over 50 films between 1930 and 1965. In the 1930s and 1940s he dominated Danish film music. He has been called " e of the most appealing personalities of our time in the light music field". Twelve of his songs have been included in the Danish Culture Canon. Connie Hedegaard and Claus Hagen Petersen list him among the 100 most important Danes of the 20th century. Career Andersen was originally a bank clerk, but began composing for revues, studied music, and in 1919 became a full-time musician. He became director of revue productions in Copenhagen before extending his range into film and plays (by Kaj Munk and Kjeld Abell amongst others). Odd Frogg
Odd Frogg (October 13, 1901 – February 23, 1934) was a Norwegian actor. Career Frogg attended Frogner School, where his classmates included Johan Borgen. In 1921, the two friends approached Halfdan Christensen, who was manager at the National Theater in Oslo, to be employed as actors in the ensemble. Frogg made a positive impression, and he debuted in the role of the priest's son Benedikt in Nini Roll Anker's ''Kirken'' in the spring of 1921, while Borgen went on to study law. Later, Frogg confirmed his lyrical talent as the young priest Peter in Henrik Ibsen's drama ''The Pretenders'' at the same theater, in the title role as Ambrosius Stub in the Central Theater's production of ''Ambrosius'' by Christian Molbech, and as the young writer Falk in Ibsen's ''Love's Comedy'' at the National Theater in Bergen.
