Milliken Mills High School
Milliken Mills High School is a high school in the city of Markham, Ontario, Canada. It is one of 33 high schools in the York Region District School Board. The high school's construction was not scheduled to finish until January 1989 because of a construction worker strike. The students were sent to Unionville High School on September 1988 for the first semester of the school year. Unionville High students went to school from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and the Milliken Mills students went to school from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm. Milliken Mills was fully operational in Spring, 1989. Its service boundary area stretches north from Steeles Avenue, west to Warden Avenue, south from the 14th Avenue, and east to McCowan Road. Markham () is a city in the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada. It is approximately northeast of Downtown Toronto. In the 2021 Census, Markham had a population of 338,503, which ranked it the largest in York Region, fourth largest in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), and 16th largest in Canada. George Kottaras ( ; born May 10, 1983) is a Canadian former professional baseball catcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Boston Red Sox, Milwaukee Brewers, Oakland Athletics, Kansas City Royals, Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, and Toronto Blue Jays. Milliken, Ontario
Milliken and Milliken Mills are neighbourhoods in the cities of Toronto and Markham. Milliken is situated in the north west section of Scarborough, whereas Milliken Mills is situated in the south-central portions of Markham. The neighbourhoods are centered on Kennedy Road and Steeles Avenue, the latter street serving as the boundary between the cities of Markham and Toronto. A huge percentage of people own their homes, which are primarily single detached homes. ''The Newmarket Era'' is a weekly newspaper that has been published in Newmarket, Ontario, Canada, since 1852. History 1850s The ''New Era'' began as a four-page weekly on February 5, 1852, under GeorgeS. Porter, born in 1813 and originally from Norwich, England. He controlled the paper for a year before heading to Australia where he lived into his 100th year.
