Mid Kerry GAA
Mid Kerry is one of the divisions of Kerry Gaelic Athletic Association. It organizes Gaelic football and hurling competitions for the clubs within the division and fields teams in county competitions. The division is based around the town of Killorglin and neighbouring parishes. The division was created in 1947 when Laune Rangers, Castlemaine, Milltown, Tuogh, Glenbeigh and Beaufort broke away from the East Kerry division to create their own competitions. Kerry GAA
The Kerry County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kerry GAA, is one of the 32 county boards of the GAA in Ireland. It is responsible for Gaelic games in County Kerry, and for the Kerry county teams. The Kerry branch of the Gaelic Athletic Association was founded in the year 1888. Football is the dominant sport in the county, with both the men's and women's teams among the strongest in the country at senior level. The county football team was the fourth from the province of Munster to win an All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC), as well as to appear in the final, following Limerick, Tipperary and Cork. Kerry is the most successful in the history of the All-Ireland SFC, topping the list of counties for All-Irelands won. Peter Crowley (Gaelic Footballer)
Peter Crowley (born 22 May 1990) is an Irish sportsperson. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Laune Rangers. Crowley was a member of the Kerry county football team at senior level between 2012 and 2021, and was on the 2014 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winning team. He retired from inter-county football in April 2021. Early and personal life From Killorglin, Crowley attended the Intermediate School Killorglin. He is a pharmacist by trade. Tom Prendergast (Kerry Footballer)
Tom Prendergast (born 1943 in Castlemaine, County Kerry) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Keel and was a member of the Kerry county team at senior level in the 1960s and 1970s. He won the Texaco Footballer of the Year in 1970. During the 1960s he also played with Wicklow, Donegal and Cork. Seán O'Sullivan (footballer)
Seán O'Sullivan is an Irish sportsman who played Gaelic football for the Kerry senior football team and at club level with Cromane GAA club. Playing career Underage O'Sullivan played with the Kerry minor team in 1998. Wins over Waterford after a re-play and Limerick seen him win a Munster Minor Football Championship medal. O'Sullivan and co lost out to Laois in the All-Ireland semi-final. Senior O'Sullivan won his first All-Ireland Senior Football Championship in 2006, after a comprehensive victory over Mayo side in the final on 17 September 2006, in Croke Park. Aidan O'Shea (Kerry Gaelic Footballer)
Aidan O'Shea (born 1985 in County Kerry) is an Irish Gaelic footballer from Glenbeigh-Glencar in County Kerry. He is a PE Teacher and Geography teacher at Mercy Mounthawk, Tralee, 6’3" (195 cm) tall and weighs 14 stone (89 kg). He is the son of Kerry legend Jack O'Shea. Football career Aged 23 he was selected for the Kerry Panel for the 2008 National League campaign but didn't make his debut for Kerry until the 2009 National League. Brendan Lynch (born 1949 in Beaufort, County Kerry) is an Irish former sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Beaufort and was a member of the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1968 until 1976. Underage He first played with Kerry at minor level as a 16 year old lining out in goal. He won a Munster Minor Football Championship medal after a 3-11 to 1-05 win over Cork in the final. Kerry later qualified for the All-Ireland final where they faced Derry. The title went North as Lynch and co lost out on a 2-08 to 2-04 scoreline. For the following two years Brendan had moved outfield to his customary half-forward berth, but the Kingdom were beaten narrowly by the Rebels in both Munster finals of 1966 and 1967. Pat Griffin
Patrick Griffin (1944 – 29 October 2019) was an Irish sportsperson. He played Gaelic football with his local club Glenbeigh-Glencar and Clonakilty in County Cork and was a member of the Kerry senior inter-county team from 1963 until 1974. Playing career Kerry Senior Griffin was added to the Kerry senior team in advance of the 1963 Munster Championship. He made his first appearance for the team on 14 July 1963 when he came on as a substitute for Vincent Lucey at right corner-forward in the Munster final. Griffin ended the game with a winners' medal following the 1–18 to 3–07 defeat of Cork. On 19 July 1964, Griffin was selected at left wing-forward for the Munster final against Cork. Dan Doona is a Gaelic footballer from Beaufort, County Kerry. He currently is a member for the New York county team and has been captain of the team since 2010. Darran O'Sullivan (born 3 May 1986 in London, England) is a Gaelic footballer. He plays Gaelic football with his local club Glenbeigh-Glencar, his divisional side Mid Kerry and at senior level for the Kerry county team from 2005 until 2018. Donnchadh Walsh (born 3 July 1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer. He is a midfielder and forward and plays for his local Cromane club, the Mid Kerry divisional side and, formerly, at senior level for the Kerry county team, which he played for from 2003 to 2018.
