Michelsbach (Rhine)
The Michelsbach is a tributary of the Rhine in the Germany, German region of South Palatinate. The Michelsbach's nominal start is the confluence of the Erlenbach (Michelsbach), Erlenbach and Otterbach (Rhine), Otterbach in Leimersheim, but the Otterbach is officially not counted within its drainage basin, catchment area, but seen as a tributary of the Rhine. The Erlenbach is a 34.2 km long, left tributary of the Michelsbach in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Course The Erlenbach rises in the South Palatine Wasgau region, the southern part of the Palatine Forest, in the municipality of Birkenhördt. Otterbach (Rhine)
The Otterbach is a stream, 42 kilometres long, in South Palatinate in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, that flows eastwards and northeastwards towards the Upper Rhine. Course The Otterbach rises in the area of the Upper Mundat Forest in the southeast of the Palatine Forest. Its source lies at a height of about 300 metres on the hillside east of Guttenberg Castle (Palatinate), Guttenberg Castle between the Hohe Derst (561 m high, to the north) and the Hoher Kopf (Schweigen-Rechtenbach), Hoher Kopf (497 m high, to the south). Klingbach
The Klingbach is a stream, just under long, in South Palatinate, Germany, and a left-hand tributary of the Michelsbach. Geography Course The main source of the Klingbach is located in the southern Palatine Forest, the German part of the Wasgau, at a height of about on the northeast slope of the hill on which the ruined Lindelbrunn Castle stands. Another, almost equally strong, source is situated a good two kilometres to the south. The two source streams converged after about three kilometres in Silz. The Klingbach leaves the hills in an eastern direction at Klingenmünster and crosses the German Wine Route before reaching the Upper Rhine Plain.
