Michele Di Piedi
Michele Di Piedi (born 21 December 1980) is an Italian professional football former player and manager, currently head coach of Glacis United. Biography Early career and Sheffield Wednesday (1997–2003) Di Piedi was born in Palermo, Sicily, and began his career at U.S. Siracusa before signing for Perugia in 1999. However, he made no league appearances in his only season at the club. In summer 2000, he moved to Sheffield Wednesday, as Paul Jewell's first acquisition for the South Yorkshire club after their relegation from the Premier League the previous season. Di Piedi made his debut for Wednesday in their first game since relegation from The Premiership against Wolverhampton Wanderers at The Molineux on 13 August 2000, at the age of 19 as a 60th-minute substitute for Gilles De Bilde, with Andy Booth scoring a 79th-minute equaliser after Kevin Pressman was sent off in the first minute. The Cypriot Super Cup is a Cypriot football trophy, contested in an annual match between the previous season's Cypriot First Division champions, and the Cypriot Cup winners. The match is contested at the beginning of the football season, and is usually played at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia. The most successful team in the competition are Omonia, who have won the trophy on 17 occasions. The current holders are Apollon Limassol, who defeated Omonia 2–0 in the 2022 match. Efangwu Goziem Ekoku (born 8 June 1967) is a former Nigerian professional footballer, and sports commentator. As a player, he was a striker who notably played in the Premier League for Norwich City and Wimbledon and in Switzerland for Grasshoppers. Benito Carbone (born 14 August 1971) is an Italian football manager and former professional player. He played as a forward, winger or midfielder. Paolo Di Canio (born 9 July 1968) is an Italian former professional footballer and manager. During his playing career he made over 500 league appearances and scored over one hundred goals as a forward. He primarily played as a deep-lying forward, but he could also play as an attacking midfielder, or as a winger. Di Canio was regarded as a technically skilled but temperamental player. Kevin Paul Pressman (born 6 November 1967) is an English football coach and former professional goalkeeper, who is the current goalkeeping coach for Grantham Town. As a player he made over 500 appearances in both the Premier League and Football League, most notably with Sheffield Wednesday, whom he would make 404 appearances for over a seventeen-year spell at Hillsborough. Andrew David Booth (born 6 December 1973) is a retired professional footballer. Whilst at Huddersfield he announced his retirement on 22 April 2009, but remains at the club as an ambassador, he also played for Sheffield Wednesday and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League and represented his country with the England U21s. Gilles De Bilde (born 9 June 1971) is a retired Belgian footballer who played as a striker. He played club football for Eendracht Aalst, Anderlecht, PSV, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa, Lierse and Willebroek-Meerhof. He was capped by Belgium at international level. Club career At Eendracht Aalst, he won the 1994 Belgian Player of the Year and scored 21 goals in 33 league games during the 1994–95 season.
