Helena Iren Michaelsen (born 2 June 1977) is a Norwegian singer-songwriter, known as the frontwoman for European symphonic metal band Imperia and her solo project Angel. She was the lead singer of the Gothic metal band Trail of Tears from 1997 to 2000, and was briefly the singer of Dutch symphonic metal band Sahara Dust (later renamed to Epica). Musical career Trail of Tears (1997–2000) Michaelsen was born in Evje, and started off as the female vocalist in 1997 for Norwegian gothic metal band Trail of Tears, succeeding after Ales Vik who departed from the band that same year. Up until that year, the band had been called Natt. A year later, Michaelsen and the band recorded their debut album ''Disclosure in Red'' in which she sang contralto vocals and contributed to writing lyrics. Wilhelm Michaelsen
Johann Wilhelm Michaelsen (9 October 1860, Hamburg - 18 February 1937) was a German zoologist who was a world authority on the Oligochaeta which includes the earthworms. He named and described more than a thousand new species. Michaelsen was born to Friedrich Rudolph and Johanna Catharina Ferdinandine née Köhn. In 1887 he commenced work at the Hamburg Zoological Museum, at first as a research assistant. He was later to become ''Hauptkustos'' (chief curator). Alfred Lothar Wegener (1880-1930) was a friend of Michaelsen and made use of his biogeographical work for some of his ideas on plate tectonics. Michaelsen named a species of earthworm after him as ''Wegeneriella'' Michaelsen, 1933. He also collaborated with John Stephenson. Though he also worked in the study of Tunicates and Polychaetes, Michaelsen was best known for his work on Oligochaeta. Jan Munk Michaelsen (born 28 November 1970) is a former Danish footballer and currently is the head of coaching at Nykøbing FC. He made 20 international appearances, scored one goal for the Danish national team. He is the son of former Danish footballer, the late Allan Michaelsen. Lars Michaelsen (born 13 March 1969) is a Danish former professional road bicycle racer who last rode for Team CSC. He got his break through in his second year as a professional, when he won the 1995 edition of Gent–Wevelgem. In the 1997 Vuelta a España he won stage 1 and wore the leader's jersey for three days (stage 2, 3 and 5). In 2002 he finished fifth in Paris–Roubaix, a result he would duplicate in 2005. In the 2006 Paris–Roubaix he was once again in the group of favourites, but he helped teammate Fabian Cancellara win the race and finished 19th himself. Gödeke Michels (Low Saxon language, Low Saxon; died 1402), also known as Gottfried Michaelsen in High German language, High German, was a German pirate and one of the leaders of the Likedeeler, a combination of former Victual Brothers, Vitalienbrüder. Early life Career Together with Klaus Störtebeker, Hennig Wichmann and Magister Wigbold, as well as other leaders of the Likedeeler, he raided shipping in the North Sea, North and Baltic Sea near the end of the 14th century. They possessed fast ships, which easily outmaneuvered the ships of the Hanse. Like many of the Likedeeler, Michels was primarily concerned with capturing valuable prize (law), prizes.
