Melissa Michaelsen
Melissa Michaelsen (born March 26, 1968) is an American actress best known for her roles in the 1979 television film ''Orphan Train'' and as the title character in the sitcom ''Me and Maxx''. Family Michaelsen's father, Alwin Michaelsen, is a financial consultant who graduated from Princeton in 1954, and her mother, Gail, was once Alwin's secretary. Gail is the niece of Stork Club owner Sherman Billingsley. Gail's cousin, Glenn Billingsley, was briefly married to actress Barbara Billingsley who continued to use his last name for her stage name. Gail was the one who initially took the children around to auditions. Michaelsen's four siblings all acted as children, most notably Peter Billingsley and, to a lesser extent, Neil, who began playing Danny Walton on the daytime soap opera ''Search for Tomorrow'' in 1975. Orphan Train (film)
''Orphan Train'' is an American TV movie directed by William Graham (director), William Graham which was broadcast on CBS on December 22, 1979. Plot Emma Simms, niece of the late Reverend Simms, witnesses the execution by hanging of a teenage boy for theft and assaulting a policeman. Miss Simms is mortified that the city would kill someone that young and remembers her uncle's dream to take such children out west for a better life. She decides that she will raise the funds and take the children herself. She acquires a train car with the help of Frank Carlin, a reporter who wants to travel with them and chronicle the story of the orphan train. The children traveling include Ben and Tony, Liverpool, JP (who is in fact a girl named Josephine), Sara, Mouse, Bruce, Annie, and Dutch, a young boy who speaks no English. Joe Santos
Joe Santos (born Joseph John Minieri Jr.; June 9, 1931 – March 18, 2016) was an American film and television actor, best known as Sgt. Dennis Becker (later Lieutenant), the friend of James Garner's character on the NBC crime drama ''The Rockford Files''. Early years Santos was born in Brooklyn on June 9, 1931, the same day his father died. His mother Rose (née Sarno), sold olive oil and eventually became a nightclub owner and singer in New York City and Havana. She later married Puerto Rican-born Daniel Santos, and Joe took his name. Santos was a football player at Fordham University, and even turned semi-pro, before finding a new avenue in acting. He struggled in show business, and worked blue-collar jobs until his friend Al Pacino helped him get a role in the 1971 movie ''The Panic in Needle Park''.
