Michael Rosings Minde
Michael Rosings Minde (lit. " Michael Rosing's Memory"), Helsingørsvej 3, is a house in Fredensborg, Denmark. It was built in 1873 to designs by Johan Daniel Herholdt. It was listed in the Danish registry of protected buildings and places in 1980. History Michael Rosings Minde was built in 1873 by the architect Johan Daniel Herholdt for a family named Schwarz who descended from the actors Michael Rosing (1756—1818) and Johanne Rosing (1756-1853). Michael Rosing was from 1778 associated queen dowager Juliana Maria's theatre at Fredensborg Palace as a sort of court singer. The Rosings would therefore spend their summers in Fredensborg and a considerable sum of money bequeathed to Rosing by the patron Henrik, Baron Bolten (Jr.) enabled him in 1792 to buy a house in the town. Johan Daniel Herholdt
Johan Daniel Herholdt (13 August 1818 – 11 April 1902) was a Danish architect, professor and royal building inspector. He worked in the Historicist style and had a significant influence on Danish architecture during the second half of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century. His most famous work is the Copenhagen University Library in Fiolstræde in Copenhagen which heralded a new trend. The strong use of red brick in large-scale cultural and civic buildings was to characterize Danish architecture for several decades. He was a leading proponent of the "national" school in Danish architecture of the period as opposed to Ferdinand Meldahl's and Vilhelm Dahlerup's "European" school. Michael Rosing (19 February1756 – 12 October 1818) was a Norwegian-Danish actor. Early life Rosing was born in Røros, Norway. In 1775 he graduated from the University of Copenhagen. Career In 1776 he joined the Royal Danish Theatre. He was an elite actor of the Royal Theatre from 1777 to 1808. He was most known for his roles in tragedy, lover roles and Nordic hero roles. Fredensborg () is a railway town located in Fredensborg Municipality, North Zealand, some 30 kilometres north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is most known for Fredensborg Palace, one of the official residences of the Danish Royal Family. As of 1 January 2022, the town had a population of 8,965. Johanne Cathrine Rosing, née ''Olsen'' (2 June 1756 – 15 January 1853), was a Danish stage actress and ballet dancer, one of the most noted of the era. Biography Born in a poor home as the daughter of Herman Olsen and Gundel Marie Abelgreen. She was a maid before she became a student of the French Ballet company at the court theatre and, in 1772, of the Royal Danish Ballet, when the court theatre became a part of the Royal Danish Theatre. There, she was made an actress in 1773 and given an education of a singer by the theatre. She never learned to read and write. In 1777–79, she was a member of the academy ''Det Dramatiske Selskab'' under the direction of Frederik Schwarz (1753-1838). She was married the Norwegian actor Michael Rosing (1756-1818). A queen dowager or dowager queen (compare: princess dowager or dowager princess) is a title or status generally held by the widow of a king. In the case of the widow of an emperor, the title of empress dowager is used. Pilestræde ( lit. English: Willow Alley) is a street in central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is a side street to the pedestrianized shopping street Strøget and commonly associated with the newspaper publishing house Berlingske Media, which has its headquarters in the street. History The street name refers to Pilegården, a farm which was located at the site in the Middle Ages. Pilegårde is first mentioned in 1419 and was divided into several smaller properties in 1579. In the 16th century, Copenhagen's stud farm (''Københavns Avlsgård''), where the city's bulls were stabled, was also located along the street. The stud farm was in 1671 sold to Trinitatis Church for use as a cemetery. The northernmost part of Pilestræde was originally called Springergade with a reference to the bulls at the farm. Kronprinsessegade 14 is a Neoclassical architecture, Neoclassical property overlooking Rosenborg Castle Garden in central Copenhagen, Denmark. History Construction The property was initially referred to as Lot 19A when Kronprinsessegade was created in c. 1800. The present building on the site was constructed by master builder Johan Martin Quist in 1805–6. The property was listed in the new cadastre of 1806 as No. 389 in St. Ann's West Quarter. Dronningens Tværgade ( lit. "The Queen's Cross Street") is a street in central Copenhagen, Denmark, which runs from Bredgade to Rosenborg Castle Garden. The street originally formed a link between the King's Garden (Rosenborg Castle Gardens) and the Queen's Garden. With the Odd Fellows Mansion on Bredgade and the central pavilions of the east fringe of the castle garden located at each their end, the street has axial qualities.
