Michael Parsons (figure Skater)
Michael Parsons (born October 3, 1995) is an American ice dancer. With his skating partner, Caroline Green, he is the 2022 Four Continents champion, a four-time medalist on the ISU Challenger Series, and a two-time U.S. national pewter medalist. With his sister and former skating partner Rachel Parsons, he is the 2018 NHK Trophy bronze medalist and a four-time silver medalist on the ISU Challenger Series ( 2018 CS Asian Open, 2018 CS Nebelhorn Trophy, 2018 CS Lombardia Trophy, 2017 CS Ondrej Nepela Memorial). Earlier in their career together, the Parsons won gold at the 2017 World Junior Championships, the 2016 Junior Grand Prix Final, and in the junior event at the 2017 U.S. Championships. The 2019 Skate Canada International was the second event of the 2019–20 ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating, a senior-level international invitational competition series. 2017 World Junior Figure Skating Championships
The 2017 World Junior Figure Skating Championships were held March 15–19, 2017 in Taipei City, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei). Commonly called "World Juniors" and "Junior Worlds", the event determined the World Junior champions in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing. Pair champions Ekaterina Alexandrovskaya / Harley Windsor became the first skaters representing Australia to win gold at an ISU Figure Skating Championships. ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. Ice Dancer
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating.
