ISU Challenger Series
The ISU Challenger Series is a series of international figure skating competitions. Established by the International Skating Union in the 2014–15 season, it is a group of senior-level events ranked below the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating. Each event consists of at least three disciplines out of four ( men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dancing), and is required to take place between August 1 and December 15. The ISU Challenger Series Synchronized Skating is a separate competition series in the discipline of synchronized skating. History The ISU Council decided to create the series at its February 2014 meeting. Eleven competitions were selected in June 2014. The Triglav Trophy dropped out by October 10, 2014, resulting in a series composed of ten events. Ice Dance
Ice dance (sometimes referred to as ice dancing) is a discipline of figure skating that historically draws from ballroom dancing. It joined the World Figure Skating Championships in 1952, and became a Winter Olympic Games medal sport in 1976. According to the International Skating Union (ISU), the governing body of figure skating, an ice dance team consists of one woman and one man. Ice dance, like pairs skating, pair skating, has its roots in the "combined skating" developed in the 19th century by skating clubs and organizations and in recreational social skating. Nathalie Weinzierl (born 8 April 1994) is a German figure skater. She is a two-time German national champion (2014, 2017) and has won eleven senior international medals, including gold at the Bavarian Open, Dragon Trophy, and Egna Trophy, and Merano Cup. Paul Fentz
Paul Fentz (born 8 September 1992) is a retired German figure skater. He has won four senior international medals and is a four-time German national champion (2018–20, 2022). He has competed in the final segment at eight ISU Championships. Career Fentz began appearing on the ISU Junior Grand Prix series in the 2008–09 season. His senior international debut came at the 2011 Triglav Trophy. In the 2011–12 season, he won the silver medal at the 2012 German Championships and was included in Germany's team to the 2012 European Championships in Sheffield, England. Valtter Virtanen
Valtter Virtanen (born 4 June 1987) is a Finnish figure skater. He is a three-time Nordic medalist (gold in 2022, silver in 2016, bronze in 2014) and a six-time Finnish national champion (2013, 2015–2018, 2022). Lana Petranović (born 4 January 2000) is a Croatian pair skater. With her skating partner, Antonio Souza-Kordeiru, she has competed in the final segment at four European Championships. Skating career Early years Petranović began learning to skate in 2007. As a singles skater, she appeared at one ISU Junior Grand Prix event, in October 2014. She last competed in singles in January 2015, at the European Youth Olympic Winter Festival in Dornbirn, Austria.
