Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1993), p. 6 while Motörhea ...

Year Of The Tiger (Myles Kennedy Album)
''Year of the Tiger'' is the debut studio album by American musician and singer-songwriter Myles Kennedy. His first release as a solo artist, it was released on March 9, 2018, by Napalm Records. The album is a musical departure from the hard rock music of Kennedy's other projects, instead featuring a stripped-back blues-based sound. A concept album, it explores the death of Kennedy's father in 1974, the year of the Tiger in the Chinese calendar. Critical reception Initial reaction for ''Year of the Tiger'' from music critics has been highly favorable. Hannah May Kilroy of ''Classic Rock'' gave the album 4 out of 5 stars, writing, "essentially ''Year of the Tiger'' sounds like Alter Bridge relocated to the deep south—if they swapped their hard rock riffs for bluesy twangs" and "the final message is one of finding hope in the darkness, and it’s evident that making ''Year of the Tiger'' has been a therapeutic experience for Kennedy and should be celebrated." Cryptic Rock's Vit ...

Living The Dream (Slash Album)
''Living the Dream'' is the fourth solo album by guitarist Slash and the third to feature Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. It was released on September 21, 2018, on Slash's own record label Snakepit Records. The album was produced by Michael Baskette, who also produced the previous record '' World on Fire''. Background and recording After reuniting with Guns N' Roses in 2016, the possibility of a third record for Slash and Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators was in question, let alone if they would stay together. Slash stated in multiple interviews, including on Eddie Trunk's show, that he would like to make the next album as he is always writing riffs, and had some written already but had to find time on the Guns N' Roses tour; the record was completed on the tour. He later appeared a second time on Trunk's podcast to talk further on an array of subjects including travel, doing press, and the new record, which he started jamming in 2015 and picked back up in 2017. Some thou ...
